I bought a 4 pack of peanut butter stout once. My mate and I cracked it and after the first mouthful we thought it was great. By half way through we had had enough. The last half was a real struggle. The other two cans have been in my beer fridge for 2 years now…
 
My CS seems to have relaxed much more now 😆

Thats Craft Beer for ya.
But hey..if y never go y never know...some of them are appalling.
I pretty much avoid like the plague anything with the words Pacific ,Tropical ,Watermelon or Pineapple on the can.
Why? The best part is when some old pi%%head comes in Big Niles and asks " have ya got anything like 4X?"....answer NO...because this is actual beer....For my Amercan listeners...4X is an Australian factory beer which I might think about drinking if I 'd just put out a huge bushfire and only if it was so icy cold I wouldn't be able to taste it.....yes 4X...so called because the law forbids them to write P.I.S.S. on the can....or Queenslanders can't spell beer....the situation is dire let me tell you.1000021599.jpg

Getting technical I guess but the term “craft beer” has become muddled, e.g. pirate life being bought out and now a multi national. I like to support independent breweries. My go to is Coopers for that reason as an easy drinking beer and I mix things up from there with other smaller independents.
My friends brother was head brewer for White Rabbit before they sold out. He opened up his own outside of Melbourne “Watts River”, their stout is where it’s at. Does all the seasonal beers too which are good.

My brothers are those blokes who think an exotic out there beer is Stone and Wood pacific ale 🙄

thats right, most people dont get that the concept of IPA came out centuries ago when the British needed to make the overseas journeys to india, hence India Pale Ale. They needed something stronger that would survive the passage. Its not a modern craft beer creation. but dipa and tipa at 8-9% abv sure are good!
 
Friday past saw me finally finish up the slip for my CS 🙌🎉

I'd sort of been making it alongside a slip for my father’s 78 Bullet End and holding off on each one as the process went along so I could dye both them and a set of knife handle covers all at once, mainly as I wasn’t happy with how my Empire shields were turning out during practice and well, as I said all that came to fruition on Friday.

For personal or leatherwork for family I’ve a tendency to write out the date somewhere on the piece in one continuous number, so in this case 81124, 8 November 2024, as that’s the adult way ok! (🇺🇸🙄)

The astute of you among the group may of already noticed the significance of that? It’s only the damn model number for the CS! Well, minus an extra 2 but who’s willing to look that deep anyway 😒🤷🏻‍♀️, but damn I think that’s pretty coincidental if you ask me!?

Honestly complete happenstance that could have gone an entirely different way if our Charlotte’s motor hadn’t ran out of MOT…… 🤷🏻‍♀️
