That explains a lot. I also read the entire thread. Tons of great pics and it's a real CKF history lesson for me. For me, CKF started basically with the Evo, so it's great seeing the stuff from years earlier.marcus aurelius It's a good question. So in that first picture, it's all the same model but different versions. CKF made 6 versions of the Morrf and called them 1, 2, 3, 3.2, 4, and 5.
As for collecting exact copies, I tend to collect duplicates of knives if they are different (like you said in a later comment about pm2s and different steels) or if they are rare. The earlier models, (1-3.2) they only produced 120 of each so they are very rare and were made about a decade or longer ago (depending on the model) so they have settled into collections and don't come up for sale often. The Morrf 2 is my favorite of the stock versions of the Morrf![]()
And the thread had the regular Russia/China manufacture drama, but I didn't know there was more controversy on the founder than even the Medford guy. Or at least for some people anyway. It was funny reading some of that, because I recall the same experience at BladeShow of the stoic non-communicative Russians(?) in the booth. And they disappeared from the booth after they sold the timascus/dama Evos that they had brought to the show. IDK what that means really, but it was funny reading that. Also, none of that really effects my thoughts on the brand. I like CKF's design language so much, but I still run hot and cold on the entire knife with their pricing. All that said, I love the look of your Morrfs. They look so hand crafted and sturdy to me.
