Old Imperial.

Very nice match indeed Pt.

Also like those rustic knives you've been showing from your country. Any chance of seeing some recent Portuguese Escudos from before the Euro homogenisation ?

Regards, Will

Thank you "Will Power", sorry only now to respond.
Take advantage of joining two Portuguese knives with old Portuguese Escudos !!!

Thanks. Very nice handles on those knives, are they springbacks /slipjoints or friction folders? Might like to look into getting one. Great coins too, when we all still had our own currencies...;)

These knives are made by artisans in Palaçoulo - Miranda do Douro.
They are simple knives in which the blade rotates on a shaft and the handle is one piece !!!

Like those Peace Dollars, that looks like a high relief one from the early minting, they seem to cost a lot unfortunately...

Nice CASE there too, is that a 1960s ?

Thanks, Will

That's a really nice knife Travman do you mind telling what model number I'd like to try to track one down.
This is a 11031 SH. It is a fairly common knife. I also have one from 1977 with the greatest snap of all knives that I have felt.

The coin was given to me by my Grandfather in the late 1970's. It does have a grandness about it. A few years ago I looked up the approximate value of a used version of that year. It was worth a little more than the silver in it. I think it was worth about $30.

The tang stamp on the knife denotes 1940-1964. However, it does have a pattern number on the reverse side of that blade. I'm pretty sure blade patterns weren't stamped on the blades until 1949 and after. So the best I can tell it is from 1949-1964.

Also, this one looks to have been rehandled with Cocobolo instead of the standard walnut.

1921 was the HR, some of the early 1922s were, looks like that might have come from later production
