Gevo ;;; Thank you very much my friend . I am really enjoying this knife .
I have that coin right in front of me and I am not sure what it says .
I am sure that it is British : On the front it says : GEORGEIVS DEI GRA BRITT:OMN
I know that it is a 1923 and looks like it says ONE FLORIN .
I expect that the coins are some that I got on my first trip to Reading , England in 1970 . After that , I was over there on business quite a number of times to Doncaster . Always enjoyed the trips .

Thanks, my friend !! I found it..it is a GREAT BRITAIN 1923 TWO SHILLINGS SILVER FLORIN. Thank you :thumbup:

You inspired me to get out the necklace I made from an 1892 penny sent to me from our friend Jack Black. I just took this picture

Gevo :::

That Old Remington looks like it could still pull it's own weight my friend .
Your Old 1892 penney looks like it is in great shape . I am sure that I have never seen one like it .

The old Remy is still a great carry indeed. The penny is in really great shape for its age. Wearing it now :D

That old Florin (Two Shillings) was actually a tenth of a Pound Sterling and when it was first introduced in 1849 was an early attempt at decimalising the then bizarre British currency (One Pound, 240 pennies, 12 Pennies to a Shilling, 20 Shillings to a Pound. Try doing percentages with that system!) The Pound being logically divided into 100 pence did not happen until 1971... George V Florins were nicknamed 'Tea Trays and Pokers' because of the Shields & Sceptres on the obverse.

Harry You might need to join the Witness Protection Programme, that Rat-Tail Jack being so desirable...:eek::D:D

Thanks for the information Will .
I had not considered going it yet , but thanks for the suggestion my friend .

Wow cool to see this thread revived. I've since gotten of the knife hobby but enjoy the ones I own. Will post some cool coin and knife pictures when I get the chance.

Phillip Beautiful composition there, those FBF knife handles look strong and attractive, offset by the copper too.

Thanks, Will
