I don't know about others being critical, but I have been "gently" critical of his work... the knife he made for me looked like something a first year apprentice might make, if he was slip-shod in his work.. The wood handles are really nice, but the blade grind, edge grind... basically anything to do with the blade was less than second rate.
No big deal, I can use the knife, but I will have to do quite a bit more work to get the edge anywhere near straight. The grind of the blade cannot be fixed. It's just bad. I posted pics right after I got it. I really wanted a MM knife, but now I wouldn't buy one, unless I could inspect it beforehand.
