The coin thread--post pictures of your traditional knives with a coin

Love this thread.

Thanks, G! I literally haven't opened that box for decades. It was fun to go back through it, and I was definitely surprised by some of the coins I found in there!

I've enjoyed this thread and have played around with the idea; several things I have learned - silver dollars cost more than a dollar, I need a background board with more texture in the wood and a grayer color (vs. the brown color), light is the hardest thing to control and get right. I'm still experimenting with this - thanks for the inspiration. OH

Great pictures and knife/coin Bladenoobie1:thumbup:

Thanks! I found a 1943 silver "wartime" nickel in my change yesterday where they used silver as opposed to nickel in the composition of the coin. I'll post pics along with some knife content when the light comes up.

I'm having issues with my macro setting on my camera so I've been using manual focus instead for clearer pictures. I really enjoy many of the shots in this thread and hope to replicate their quality in my photos. Nice coin too!

I found that the reason for my "grainy" pictures was a result of a high ISO. Pics should be better this time!

Pictured is a 1935 buffalo nickel and a 1943 wartime silver nickel.

Here is a Hubertus I got about 5 years ago and a few of my favorite coins.

Quoted just because I'm from Santa Maria as well.

I made it earlier tonight. It's a 63 Franklin half dollar, worked out to be about a size 10.5. A little small for me, so it goes to my son.

I just started making these things. You should see the 2 I made out of Ike silver dollars--they're huge! (And they look great.)

I will probably be making some out of some Morgan dollars pretty soon. They're addicting and classy looking in person.

Since this is a knife forum, I'll have to snap some pics of my creations with my Christmas knives tomorrow and post them here!

Yeah Eric....more info on coin rings! In keeping with the thread's intent,
