The CRK Anticipation Thread - Show Your 'Inbound's!

Well said, it fits in that scenario perfectly, just out of curiosity I inspected my startac, and there seems to be evidence of some very small movement on the tang, I hope it's visible in this picture

Forgot to say that the tiny movement of the ceramic ball has no effect on performance of the knife though; I suspect future generations of this locking configuration will have the lock groove; personally I don't really care. Going back to the Inkosi, it looks like a little tank of a knife; I like it.

I have two coming!! More pics to follow once I receive them :D! The first one is a used Inkosi due tomorrow (Monday):

I am really stoked about the second one - an Inyoni! I probably paid too much, but I wanted one of these in the worse way. (Some water damage on the box....oh well.) Due next Monday but i am assuming it will be next week:

Very nice Inyoni. I believe I bought the last one on a dealers site. It was marked display model. Its a great knife that for some reason never caught on. I seen it available for years, but always passed on it till I realized I had better wait no longer. I was happy to get it.

That looks normal for a ceramic ball mark on a 25 tang. At least it matches mine. If the knife has no play, I'd say you are good to go. Remember that the lockbar is a spring, so there is some variation to the resting place and track of the ceramic ball based on how the blade is opened, and squeezing of the knife when you use it. This seems to be something they have addressed with the ball groove on the new Inkosi, but I never saw it as a problem on the 25

I totally agree with you, the 25 is rock solid; to be honest, I never knew the lock bar had any vertical movement until I heard Anne Reeve say something about it when presenting the Inkosi at the shot show ( I think it was shot show), I saw her in a you tube video; it was surprising to hear that since I never noticed anything wrong with the lock bar; I love that about Chris Reeve, if he finds he can improve on something they do it; she mentioned that some people had complained about it so they addressed it with the Inkosi.
Of course this makes me want to go get one, just because it is not only an improvement but also an innovation, I think.
The 25 was the first knife I had ever seen use a ceramic ball as a detent and interface between the lock and the tang of the blade, I thought that was brilliant.

Yes LW! And I paid dearly for it to. I spoke with the owner, an 81 year old gentleman in GA, and one of the individuals bidding against me approached him trying to get him to sell it for $1100. He's got several other old CRK's that he's going to post. His photos aren't great but it's basically a NIB Annual..... been in his gun safe sitting since he bought it in 2003.

And thanks makariotes and vapor! Been trying to find a large Annual for a halfway reasonable price. At least I found one. :)

You're welcome, it is really a beautiful knife; thanks to everyone who posts their knives here, I learn something new almost every time I check this thread out; yeah I admit it, I'm a total neophyte but I'm making progress. Of course thanks to Lone Wolf for starting this thread:). Keep them coming!!

I was watching that one also (with no hope of getting it....). Amazing knife! Good to know that the seller was sharp enough to not sell on the side...
