pjsjr That stag is super nice! Here is one that has me a bit confused. It is marked D2 in the location where it is usually BUCK and then on the back side it is marked BUCK anvil CUSTOM USA. Ive seen the double stamped ones. The box has a date of 7/31/2014. Any thoughts?

Don W that is the “non-double stamp D2”. Those were a short run knife, look back a page, I recently gave one to a friend as a retirement gift. I may have pictures of both sides, but the tang stamp is on the opposite side of the knife versus the standard catalog version. OH

Buck stamps most of the 420HC blades, the 'super' steels are etched.

Fell so deeply in love with this I gave my Idaho tang stamp 119 to a good friend. As of this writing, knife and sheath are on the way to PA, where a horizontal carry kydex sheath will be made.

I think that will be a nice enough carry option. Sure do like the way the other personal I have carries.

Me too. I just cannot warm up to the factory leather sheath, seems cumbersome to me and not amenable to comfortable carry.

the 118 got some work in last night, this is the 5160 from 2 years ago. I doubt if I'd ever known about or considered this blade if not for Old Hunter talking it up. it's a great processor.

That kydex sheath looks great.

I spent last week on the outer banks of North Carolina. I did a little fishing, only one keeper. Weather was not great with high winds and chilly temps, so most of my days were spent having fun with family.

I leave in an hour to head to West Virginia for Thanksgiving/deer season. I have 3 different 118's with me. i'll post more pics next weekend.
