The Delica is freaking awesome.

The delica was the first spyderco I saw in the mid 90s. I never liked them and bought barettas until I could afford benchmades. I love g-sakai knives but alas still not in to the delica. HOWEVER this image is quite amazing! I laughed at the pink ones.

I’d vote for golden made Delicas but the price point might increase drastically.
This has been brought up before and the response was that the Japanese would be offended if the Delica or any of the other Japanese made knives..Stretch..Endura etc. production was moved to Golden.
I'd rather them stay in Japan so we can have the availability of Japanese steels..some Japanese steels they wont use outside of Japan..Super Blue comes to mind..only available for use in Japan.

I am a huge Delica fan. I do not even carry my BM Mini Grip, at all, since coming back to the Delica 10 years ago. I love this knife. It does everything a knife in this size should do, and does them well.

Yep, the Delica is an awesome design for sure. I've got a lot of knives in all price ranges and the Delica in ZDP is still one of my favorites. For some reason I just never have fell in love with VG10 and wish they would do more production Delicas with different steels.

I want to explore other Delica steels, Have heard nothing but good things about hap40 and ZDP.

Ive been carrying the VG10 version every day since friday, no oil, no wiping down, and theres not a hint of corrosion.
As someone who only has mostly Cruwear and M4, this is a pleasant change.

Dropped it in my gym shorts this morning 9am. After I went to an outdoor mall. 85 Degrees out(feels like 90) with 70percent humidity!
shorts were pretty sweaty, Home now and its a quarter to 6, theres no corrosion or staining so far.
Plus I could barley tell I had it on me!
No way im dropping a manix or even a PM2 in gym shorts and still able to walk comfortably with that thing swinging around.

+1 for the Delica

I wish they would do the delicas in all the same steels as the pm2’s.
Or tell Japan to mix it up a little, but I doubt japan has as many knife nuts like the US does. While we test and retest steels to get the best of the best for certain applications, Japan has more traditional steels, passed down through countless generations and perfected.

US steels have better performance.
Japanese steels have better lore.

(From what I can tell right now. I’m not an expert so please don’t take offense, just an observation)

Just used mine again for dinner prep. I know I’ve said it before and will again. This is just the perfect knife for everything I need in a day. Such a great design.

I definitely want to try the hap40 version

I’m looking forward to trying some lil para scales from Boomer52. I have a feeling that after I do, I will transition to primarily delicas from pm2’s.

It was ergonomically designed for females.

Not sure what this means. I think that the male and female hand varies mostly in size as opossed to shape. Must be some large females or average females that like larger knives. I am 6 ft 1 and 230lbs and the handle seems to have plenty of real estate for me.

I guess the delica would probably feel like an endura if you were half my weight, not there would be anything wrong with that.

Edkt: I am an accountant and not a doctor so how should I know.

I agree the Delica is awesome. I have 25 of them. In today's market the price is too high for the standard VG 10 steel offering. The standard should be S30 V or S35 VN. I love the Delica. It just needs to keep up. If I didn't collect them I'm sorry to say as a user for the money, it would not get a look in. The native 5 represents better value IMHO.

I too, love the Delica. It wasn't my first Spyderco, and I own several PM2's, Manix, Para 3's, etc. Even with all my other terrific Spyderco offerings I still find one of my Delicas makes it back into the EDC rotation more often. Obligatory pic of Saturdays line-up, I absolutely love the Wharncliffe design and not to mention the combo of orange and S30v for a great price!
