The DesRosiers are back in the forge and headed to San Antonio!

Frick'n awesome guys!!!

They're all OUTSTANDING examples of the crazy skills you two have.

While I know it's not the most time/work intense of the bunch, that Koa fighting Bowie just REALLY trips my trigger. Beautiful lines, materials, and it just begs to be flung around and sunk into something.

You guys rock!

My shop dogs want to play with your shop dog!!! :D I have had two fawns run up to me in my life (like almost rubbing up against my leg, kind'a close...) but I was just standing there quietly. I cannot even imagine having a deer that close while banging on hot steel!!! Shoot, Bentley won't even get that close when I have the forge going. LOL

Sure glad to see you guys are up and running full speed. :)

Great to see you two putting out work from the new shop.

Those are some awesome knives.

John

Nice work flowing from your shop.

The Talisman is freaking me out a little. Don and I talked last week as my spot in his order line is coming up quick. We chatted about a couple of different folder and fixed blade possibilites and I said I'd be back with him soon. I looked over my Hanson collection last night to see what ideas I could come up with that are signature Hanson but with a slight twist.

Don, my plan was to call you this afternoon and discuss a fixed blade Scary Tac.

Haley, you beat me to it!!! Love seeing the concept as I was imagining it last night. Just too coincidental and freaky :love-struck::cool:

I had to do a double take as Don's old maker's mark was "DH", the D with some space before an H below it. My brain was on processor overload as I stared at Haley's knife that I had just been dreaming of as the overlaid letters in reverse were messing with my head.

Jon Brand, can you post a pic of Hanson's "pickle"? I believe you had it at one point and it had his early mark.

Wow! thank you all for the great encouragement!
The little doe is a rescue project we picked up this spring. Haley has raised quite a few deer over the years. They make great pets, and there's nothing like a real live doe tagging along on a hunting trip to increase the odds of seeing a buck!
Kevin, yes that's the same design as your JS test knife, just dressed up a little bit.
Nick, I'm with you on the Bowie chopper. I just love the look of the "brute de forge" stuff. I think with all that hair, your dogs need to be more concerned with fire!
Really looking forward to spending more time with all you knife nuts! Yes, we will be at Blade.

Adam.

Adam it's GREAT to see you guys back at it forging out great blades!!

Dibs on that forged integral hunter!! They're all fantastic man!

Weird eh Rob! Maybe I'll do a fixed inspired by Haley, HD? :D

Rob I am at work but its in the previously owned section of my site if you wanna grab it.

Thanks, Jon.

Don's pickle, courtesy of Jon Brand. Old skool, pre sunfish maker's mark as opposed to Haley's new age HD.

I love the Scary Tac Don made for me and am very impressed with the fixed blade Talisman Haley created. The blade looks great and the handle appears to be very ergonomic.

So glad your both back at it, I have missed your talents!

oh and your "shop dog" is cool.

Great knives all around. And good variety. Glad you're back in action. Congratulations on your new home and shop. I bet they show the same attention to detail and creativity as your knives. I see from your website that you fish halibut. Did you get in on the record run of pinks this year or is your "other" season more longlining?

Thanks Bob,
We got to see other guys scooping up all the salmon this year, but we only longline for halibut and black cod. We sold our salmon boat a few years ago. Sometimes I miss it, but long lining has been a better gig for us.
That reminds me. I need to do a thread on the knives we use and tested on the boats... Had excellent results with a parkerized 52100 bait chopper this year.

That has to work well. Have you & Haley seen this? http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/my-life-as-a-turkey/full-episode/7378/ Good stuff.

Speaking of good stuff, so glad to hear the shop is dried in and you both are back at the forge. Tremendous work. Congratulations on the new space!

Thanks Joe, that's a pretty interesting vid. We've raised wild baby Canadian honkers, and Haley even raised a pet porcupine one year. Seems like we live right in the nature channel sometimes. In the spring there always seems to be hundreds of baby wild things around our place. It can be quite a show.

Good to hear from you guys !
Terrific knives per usual, you can't stop outdo yourselves. That Dark Angel is outstanding.
Adam, you have an Email ;)
