Wow! From only being teased about a forthcoming folder for who knows how many years, to this, the second or third folder offered in the span of just a few months depending on how you look at it. Nice!

Thanks for all the great pics Jerry. Really helps to understand how it works. Without them I'd not have realized that the lock serves to keep it securely closed too and therefore must be actuated to deploy the blade.

This just leaves me with one question then : what's the as-designed method of deployment?

If I have my thumb pulling the lock back to release the blade, then how do I use the thumb stud? Is it designed to be opened by pulling the lock back and letting gravity or a wrist flick open it and the thumb stud is there only if needed to deploy the rest of the way?

OK, actually, I have two things I'm wondering about, the second being, what's the blade steel going to be? AEB-L? INFI? 😃

ETA : I see now it's Magnacut. I swear that wasn't listed when I first looked at it but maybe I got too excited and went straight to the pics.

Looks like it will open just fine with the thumb studs. The blade will push the lock bar back when you open the blade.
I'm not sure what I was thinking a moment ago when I posted that because I totally see what you're saying now! 🤦 Must have had one of them there brain farts, lol

There's a reason you have "Sharp" in your name and I don't 😂

The lock is a manual open design, and the compression spring holds it in the closed position.

Simply pushing on the blade's thumb stud will open it.

Let's Drink!

Yes, but why? It's a magnacut blade so why does it need a lock insert?

it looks like it's captured and traveling with the blade because it's still nested in when the blade is "closed."

maybe to mitigate / eliminate lock stickiness?

the spherical shape would wear evenly keeping the lock at optimal function for a longer time?

it definately appears it is proud of the blade tang so it would HAVE TO interface with the lock bar, right?
