Look at the 2nd to last photo Jerry posted with the blade in the closed position. The โ€œchoilโ€ is inherent to the lock geometry, itโ€™s the cutout in the blade for the lock parts.

Weโ€™d either have to narrow the blade significantly, or widen the handle significantly, to have a choil-less design. Also note the 2 points of contact with the Block lock, where the one by the thumb stud acts like a blade โ€œkickโ€. That whole geometry would need changed in a choil-less design.

Any plans for a more robust or machined clip?

Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s very functional but, and this is probably stupid, has me hesitant to buy one.

Just looksโ€ฆ.cheap?
 
Although, fomo shouldn't be playing a role here. The shop has invested heavily into be able to work titanium. The tooling is incredibly expensive. With all these folders so far, I'm fairly sure they haven't broke even yet...probably nowhere near even. So they will need to pump out large quantities over the next few years. So get the one you like. I will have thin proto, I do.like this magnacut as well...and will probably have to get infi one down the line.

Handles will get fancier with time too. I see inhouse engraving, scroll work...texture etc.

Blade shape will change, but, I'd look for other Busse blades. My bet would be a dagger type based on everyone's love of fmv, and everyone asking about fmv4.5 type knife and Last right tanto type will show up some time soon... the dagger variety could also be hell razor version. As handle shape isn't far from current designs, everyone wants cbt, and it's very close to dagger design with exposed bit not being sharpened to keep it safe when closed.

Also willing to bet some crazy limited run oversized folders would show up....(PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...I can carry any size folder in my pocket here...but local city stuff often restricts fixies to under 3 inches...) maybe kukri folder in the future as well...

Just my two cents...I do love this guy...but it's not fomo.

Volk Volk it's pretty awesome to see them dropping variations of frame designs before new shapes, steel, and size variations. They're laying a nice foundation and its great to be here with a front row seat rather than digging through history to see how things came about.
