Photos The Emerson Enclave

Unpopular opinion: I've never cared for how Ernie fits his scale overlays to the bolsters. I can understand them being gapped and not flush back in the day, but standards have changed and they look off now. It just bugs me when makers don't take the time to snug everything up, and he's certainly not the only one.
Chuck I totally get it... that knife above was customized by Ferrrk (Phil) back in the day. Phil copied Ernie's style with the fitment of the micarta scales on that 7A above. Believe me there are many makers out there that are top notch and using better materials etc... But theres just something about Emerson knives that sing to me not to mention that he's a great fella also.

I get that too. It's just something I've always noticed, but it wouldn't stop me from getting a custom lol. Thanks for the info on this particular piece as well.

Hey Chuck,

Here's a newer Custom Emerson CQC-7B my buddy picked up and the fit and finish on this one seems to have a nice clean simple look on her.

Looks pretty nice, man. The overlay appears to be pretty flush with the height of the bolster.

Bolster not flush to covers on a custom isn't really a flaw but a stylistic feature IMHO. I think it looks fine and it is a discriminator
