The Endura gets NO respect!

I just bought a NIB Green FRN ZDP189 PE knife for $60 plus $7 for shipping.
I find that completely unreal. The Endura was my first Spydie and the knife I think of when I think of a Spyderco. Just WOW but its all good for me ;)

Where did you get that blade? I didnt know spyderco made FG enduras with PEs.

I must admit that I never plan on getting an Endura. I personally find the Endura to be to big for a folder. Most of my EDC tasks are met perfectly with the Delica or smaller knives.

If I need a tactical knife or a hard use knife, I would definitely stick to a fixed blade.

Enduras look nice but I am not a huge fan. Different strokes for different folks.

i love my endura! On a recent camping trip i cjose it as my main knife in the zdp 189 combo edge form and it performed like a champ!!!
it is a little big to edc so my carbon caly in zdp 189 gets the most pocket time, i should get a delica sometime soon though, to me it is the baby endura!

I hear ya. And I agree with your other statement of different strokes for different folks. I personally don't care for the Military. Bought one, tried it and it just didn't feel right for me. On the other hand I'm nuts about the Manix which is a similar sized knife to the Miltary.

Now I would prefer the more pointy tip of the earlier generations of Enduras but from a utilitarian standpoint this design is probably better.

Oh, I tried to buy a full serrated Endura in ZDP but got out bid. So I'm thinking about a Pacific Salt with full serration. Any comments on how well the H1's serrated edge holds up and stays sharp??

I just got a fully-serrated Pacific Salt yesterday so can't comment on its edge-holding yet, but I have had a serrated Tasman Salt for some time, and have used it a fair bit, and its edge holds up very well, and seems to holds its edge about as well as serrated VG-10.

I like the fact that the Pacific Salt is basically an Endura 3 with H-1 and some blade variants. I prefer the Pac to the Endura 3.

I went ahead and bought the Pacific Salt in Yellow and a Spydie Edge.
With luck my PE Mini-Manix gets here today. So three in the pipeline coming.
Nothing like getting some new Spydies to get ya all excited about going to get the mail.

Now that's purdy.

I liked my Gen. 3 Endura and gave it to my father when I got my current EDC. With the modifications of the Gen. 4, ALL my perceived downsides about it have disappeared. Besides, it wasn't too "scary big" as the Military yet you felt confident in its size to handle most cutting tasks.

The Edura is simple. Unfortunately, human nature tends to dismiss "simple" and equates it to something poor or lowly.

BUT. . .

Simple is elegant
Simple is timeless
Simple works!

This is why the Endura "endures"!

lol. I could go for a bit of that too. BTw, how do you keep your White endura clean? Mine gets to turning light yellow or brown after a week or so of use. Using just water works, but requires a lot of scrubbing.

My G10 endura is part of my edc rotation--that is a lot of respect for it. Many knives have not made it into my regular rotation:) I rotate a total of 4 knives, no more and no less. So if i use a new knife another gets booted. My endura booted out my bm mini skirmish.
I now have a seby 21, para, bm 710 and the endura:)
