Is there anything better than bacon? I think not. Good by itself, and adds flavor to just about anything.

Made Vermont Smoke & Cure cob & maple smoked bacon in the Lodge cast iron pan this morning. Took this pic thinking about this thread. Glad that you bumped it, Dubz. Not pictured is my 11, because it was around my neck.

Also made waffles in the waffle iron I got my daughter for Christmas. Sadly, we ran out of maple syrup (the girls finished it while I was still cooking) and I was forced to slather mine in NH made peach preserves....which was equally as delicious as the syrup would've been.....maybe even better. I'll have to get some more, 'cause it was also the last of that as well.

That's right...bacon CANDY

I'll admit the pic isn't that great but...tastes a helluva lot better than this lousy pic.

Start with Wright's thick cut bacon. Cut in half and lay uncooked pieces on a cookie cooling rack. Put that over a foil covered baking tray.

Mix equal amounts of brown sugar and finely chopped pecans and add some cayenne pepper for a little kick.

Spread that mixture on and then drizzle with real maple syrup.

Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes.

Depending on how much cayenne you put in (1/8-1/4 tsp for 1/2 cup brown sugar per lb bacon) you end up with bacon, sweet heat goodness.

Eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham/Canadian bacon and over-easy eggs instead of poached (I'm lazy...).

So I'm pretty sure I saw this thread years ago, (I remember that bacon loaf!)and posted in it but I guess I didn't.... At least Jonny posted a picture of me with the Boss.

Been home sick for a couple of days and starting to feel better so between this thread and the hog hunting thread I'm seriously craving some bacon!!!

Even that bacon candy looks good right now.
