lol. I've been staying away from tablets for a while, but will research some more. And there's soooo many of them...don't want to complicate myself, will stay within those options for now.

also, a quick search for good tablets indicate prices above 200$...the ipod is gonna take a chunk already, so the kindle or nook hovering close to the 100$ mark are more appealing.

my wife goes through those tablets. her favorite is the nexus 7 and she has the ipad, and ipad mini, but she prefers the nexus 7. I dont use any of em really.

Just had a tornado pass three and half miles south of here. We got some wind and dime sized hail. Odd weather for Halloween.
That, is kind of crazy... Are you sure it wasn't the wicked witch of the west coming from Oz?

Ok I need opinions. I already decided to go with an ipod 160gb because I have a ton of cds taking up space and also have found plenty of hard-to-find specimens available for a fraction as downloads, so it's time to stop with the plastic and see where this goes. Now the issue is that I want to do the same with books and get an e-reader, so the options are either a kindle paperwhite or nook simpletouch with glowlight. Which one and why?
I'd recommend getting a real tablet and you can put the music and books both on there. The new Asus is a 7" screen, >$200, and has SD card slot so you're not stuck loading everything onto the actual device.

Coupla years ago we had a snowstorm on Halloween that knocked out power for a day or three (for some people). The trees hadn't dropped their leaves yet, so they got weighed down with heavy wet stuff and started dropping their limbs on to power lines - you could see flashes like lightning in the distance when each transformer blew. That was the spookiest Halloween ever for me.

Trade, did the hail do any damage at your place?

Nope, we put the vehicles up. You could hear the train noise off to the south.

They reported quite a bit of damage just south of us. Quite a few of what they are calling "low top" tornados in the area. I've never heard of a low top tornado before.

Both my kids birthdays are on a 1st of the month, My daughters birthday is July 1st, my sons Birthday is tomorrow, November 1st. I think the spirits planned it that way because im bad saving money, but payday lines up for them perfectly LMAO.

Taking my son to Chuckie Cheese tomorrow. he is turning 5, we let the little punk pick between going to the river having a big fire and grilling, going to the park and grilling, or going to chuckie cheese and my boy let me down dammit LOL. His first question was... "cake?" I told him yea cake no matter where he goes and he said "chuckie cheese.... play games" and i let out a cry of disappointment, then i tried to convince him to go to the river but momma told me to shut up and let him pick because it wasnt my birthday HAHA so it is what it is.

Me and the wife also got him one of these for his birthday, he wanted a dog, and a robot LMAO so a robot dog might just be perfect, or he might prefer the box never know at these ages LOL but i guess you can train him and teach him new tricks and stuff. looks cool. I watched some videos and stuff on it. We have had it about a week now and i been dying to play with it but the wife said ill be in the dog house if i play with his new toy, i told her we dont have a dog house and she said exactly...

Well, my situation at work yesterday was takin care of today, yesterday, after the big blow up with the bossman, I composed a beautifully written letter to HR. Of coarse they where out of the office till next week, (which I think bossman thought would work to his favor. Or he didn't think I was ballsy enough to go over his head.) So, I sent it to the head of corporate HR. This morning when I got to work, I checked my email, and I had a reponse back from him simply stating he had a lenthy conversation with the parties involved and he gauanteed the situation was rectified, and for me to report to bossmans office imediately upon his arrival first thing of the morning and he would be more than happy to make the nessessary accomidations and cover all travel expenses. Haha. Even gave me a list of restuarants close by that I could eat at and have added to the hotel bill no charge to me, a $50. a day expense allowance and there paying me overtime wages for driving time (6hrs). Funny thing was, Mr. Bossman, even though he couldn't look me in the eye the whole time he was making the arrangments, was just as nice and polite as he could be. Gave me great joy I must say, a real shame though, worked for that company for 17 years, and that's the first time I had to push something to that level. But the sh!t rolled up hill today, evidently he didn't like having his ass handed to him by his suborinant. Just wondering how bad he will have it out for me.

Well I'm glad it all worked out for the best but I have to say I'm just a little disappointed you didn't steel a page from D's playbook and go on an office rampage with a t-shirt cannon mounted on an old lawn tractor.
