I didn't eat any dogs until around 9. The wife and I went for a ride today to the Kampsville/Alton area. The leaves are beautiful. We ate in Godfrey at Arbys around 4, so I wasn't overly hungry.

I started talking to a chick who lives in Alton. She is an interpreter too. I been meaning to run up there recently... I'm thinking a fast eddies run is in order.

Burger Kings new Angry whopper deserves an award!! And they heard me when i said no mayo the firs time. I mean that burger is DELICIOUS.

The buffalo strips could have been better but the burger was RIGHT!! Thick bacon, onion rings, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and other yummy stuff i didnt see but tasted LOL

Yeah it's pretty good for a burger chain. I say burger chain because there is no such thing as "fast food" anymore. Dairy queen is also ok. Five guys makes a good burger though. My biggest complaint about BK is that they grab this huge chunk of that really thick nasty lettuce from the base and slap it on there and when you pull it off all of the condiments go with it. Almost every chain does it too. I almost never get a decent piece of lettuce It's either the thick gross overpowering stuff or some disgusting wilted piece that should have been thrown out instead of put in someone's food.

Screw all them big burger chains. Even when they're pretty good, they're not all that great.

Support local dives and diners! Angie and I swear by "The Other One", a tiny little place up in Oak Ridge. It's in a crappy little strip mall, but boy howdy do they make good burgers! Sliders to OMG-that's-WAY-too-big-for-one-human, hot to mild, every topping you could want, made fresh. Good produce and a better selection of hot sauces than I even have at home.

Also, they have a beer license and a pretty decent selection... try finding that at BK or McDeath or whateverelsenot. :D

I would love to find a good local burger place but they all suck. No one in Pueblo that I have found knows how to make a proper burger. At least not anyone still in business.

There used to be the BBQ joint in town. Got a burger there once, nothing on it just meat and cheese and it was amazing. Tried some of the BBQ another time and it was mediocre at best. Maybe if they would have dropped the BBQ and focused on burgers they'd still be in business. I'm told that over in Canon City about 45 minuets away there's an awesome burger joint/bar. I want to go over there and check out the Royal Gorge.

A guy from BCUSA is sending me a little ulu he made from part of an old hickory blade, and deer antler. Freakin cool little ulu. I've always like ulus, for whatever reason.

I've always loved ulus but never had a use for one. So i never got one. I almost got one from KOA when I was in Alaska but I had no way to get it home since my slippy had already been confiscated when I embarked on the ship.

this looks pretty cool, not sure what you would use it for though

I designed something similar to that, but mine looks 10 times better, imo.

I just read this one was only designed to skin/cut animals and not meant to use on wood. That kind of sucks LOL, its funny we are talking about them because I have one of these CRKT ULUs on the way with a kabar heavy bowie from a trade for the TAK-1.. I guess the ULU will make a neat looking kitchen knife anyway.... Ill beat the heavy bowie senseless.

Ulus are real good for chopping up herbs and nuts. Usually they come with a shallow bowl that helps contain the chopping material.

When I was about 17 or 18 I knew a guy that had a chopping bowl and traditional ULU, he said he bought it from a yard sale because the blade looked like it came off a guillotine.. neither of us knew what it was really for back then...we did use the bowl for herb though ;)

When this CRKT ULU gets here I think ill make it the camp "kitchen" cook knife. My mora has held that duty, but it has seen way better days.

The Zoomer toy i got my son for his birthday today turned out REALLY cool. It acts like a real dog, sometimes it will follow you around the room and sometimes it walks off and does its own thing. One great thing is when it goes pee, nothing comes out LMAO... but it does go pee, shake hands, roll over, come, protect, follow and more.. when you say "zoomer, protect me" it goes in defense mode and start growling and barking its awesome. Its a real real cool toy for around 80 bucks. My son loves it and my daughter wants one for herself at xmas time. Hell even the wife likes playing with it.

The battery only last about an hour of constant playing though, and then takes another hour to fully charge, but thats the only negative we see so far. This toy is super cool... The way it moves around is awesome, it has wheels for feet, but its legs still move like a real dogs. It responds to sound, sight and touch.

That little Avery (...)! God he went wild on those drums!

Dubz, you seen the video of the kids doing Nirvana?

So I made a list of all the knives I want to get kydex for. The total was 23 with 7 or 8 machetes. I have the stuff to do it myself (except for enough kydex) but I just can't seem to get one to turn out. I'm going to have to figure it out somehow because it would cost like $1300, maybe more, to have them made for me.

I suppose I could just have less knives....

LOL Just kidding!

Thats a lot of sheaths!! I also tried bending my own and didnt have much luck.

I have traded for a lot of my kydex. You would be surprised just how many benders will take knives or other gear for kydex work.

I have a couple blades that aren't worth much I'd be willing to part with, but as you can imagine I like most of my knives a lot and don't want to get rid of the good ones. Most of them I would have to send off to have the sheath custom formed which adds to the cost plus the risk of the knife getting lost in the mail. I think I'm just going to have to buckle down and try again and accept the fact that the first few are going to end up in the trash.

I'm on youtube right now re-watching as many videos as I can find on forming kydex.

Its been over 20 years since I rode that ride and I still cant get it out of my head.No way im watching that, I don't need a refresher. :barf:

it's mind control, pure and simple
