I grill in the winter, snow and all.
Yup! I had a neighbor who would put a little TV in the kitchen window, facing out... so he didn't miss any of the Packer game when he was out flipping the burgers and turning the brats :p

I have a couple blades that aren't worth much I'd be willing to part with, but as you can imagine I like most of my knives a lot and don't want to get rid of the good ones. Most of them I would have to send off to have the sheath custom formed which adds to the cost plus the risk of the knife getting lost in the mail. I think I'm just going to have to buckle down and try again and accept the fact that the first few are going to end up in the trash.

I'm on youtube right now re-watching as many videos as I can find on forming kydex.

Hey man, I'll shoot you an email with my phone number. Gimme a call and I will tell you everything I know about bending kydex.

Topeka has a semi-trendy burger joint that is phenomenal.
not cheap, but worth it.
$5-8 for a 1/2 pound burger ground on site and cooked to order, same for a basket of fries, good beer on tap.
Fries choices include regular, sweet potato, bourbon bacon cheddar, truffle, duck fat, and a few others.

Damn.

come visit -- there's a pretty nice 3.5 mile trail less than an hour from the house, that burger joint and 6 breweries within an hours drive.

Cooper, if you ever come back through this way, we can go to the Burger Stand (or one of the local owned pizza places) and try some of those other breweries' offerings.

Sounds good. I definitely intend to eventually. We will see, when work slows down.

I am just jealous that you have such great beer and food so close to home.

yup - it's a burden, but i wear it well.
last night dinner was a pint of buffalo sweat on tap and a "mexican" calzone -- an 8" whole wheat crust pizza folded in half and stuffed with black beans, pico, shredded cheese, & shredded chicken

It's never too cold to grill out. I grew up in WI, dewd... I've literally seen folks in snowmobile suits watching their grills. It just makes it easier to keep the beer frosty :D

I agree to an extent. I've grilled lots of times when its 10 or 15 degrees out, but when its -20 or -30 propane tanks tend to freeze up sometimes or the grill just doesnt heat well. I just got into charcoal this year, so I'll have to try it out on one of those super cold days when its not windy.

So here's the video of my dad getting cut off. Skip to about 0:40 to see what happened.

I guess I should add the girl in the car was on the gas the whole time she was getting pushed, but couldn't go anywhere because one of her fenders got caught on the bumper of the truck.

Didn't realize your dad was in the semi DJ. I can see where he easily didn't see the car. The camera sees it, but it looks like its mounted high in the window and right against the window. That car should have either turned right beings it was in the turning lane or should have waited until everyone to the left of it had gone past it. People don't realize how much a semi driver can't see in front of him and to the sides. I'm 5'11" and to open the hood on the truck I drive I have to stand on my tipee toes to reach the handle.

Yeah the cameras right at the top of the windshield so you could see everything the driver can't. But keep in mind that happened on a college campus too so most of the people haven't been driving for very long. I'm 5'10"and can barely reach the handle to open the hood, and that's standing on top of the bumper. Opening it is a whole different story... :D

Ah, the good ol' days:
