Todd, sorry your work day sucked--that story cracked me up, though!

I finished my last exam today. Went and picked up a new little plinker afterwards--a henry lever-action .22

Me too :)

I here ya, brother, I really do. Pretty much at least once a day I fantasize about just living way back in the woods with nobody bothering me.

I occasionally threaten to become Amish. But then what would I do with all my guns, knives, and electronical gadgets? How could I live without the interwebz? The simplicity, at least in theory, appeals to me, but I seem to be somewhat dependent on the chaos that is modern life.

Pics/vid or it didn't happen! I've never fired one of those, but they sure look like a ton of fun :)

I'm right here with you! I must confess an addiction to grocery stores, store-bought booze, readily-available electric/gas and internet access. I look back on what my grandparents went through without all that stuff... and hoo boy, that's some serious business rat chair.

Ang and I are working towards a certain level of independence, and we have some skills/resources upon which to build... but Jiminy Crickets... if the SHTF tomorrow, it would be a lot less fun than the TV shows and books make it out to be.

Lever actions are fun. My first firearm purchase was a Marlin 336 30-30. Working on a new AR-15 right now. Waiting to get the last of the parts in from the LGS. Traded a couple blades for store credit there.

Standard or Golden Boy? My kid is in love with the Golden Boy 22lr. He needs a deer-class gun before I get him anything like that, though.

Same problem here, but I discovered they're all at the end of the unmanned register lanes, because there aren't enough employees and none of them have the initiative to gather them up and place them back near the entrance. Now I go in and cruise the end of the lanes on my trek to the other side of the store.

Aha! I'll look there the next time I can't avoid wally world.

I'm reading a book about a young man coming of age....about 30,000 years ago. Fascinating stuff, but holy mother of....even with the support of a group/tribe, every day was SHTF. I'd also love to live more simply, but that tiger's out of the box, and there ain't no way to get it back in, short of a near complete defection from society. I am NOT gonna give up indoor plumbing! Or knives.....

Whoo hoo! Beer:30 or Beer:52 I guess. Glad to be out of the sh!thole for a couple of days......

I love lever actions. Esspecially .22 its hard to have that much fun for not much $$$. I got a browning grade 2. Love it. It shoots shorts to. I like that. Makes less noise than a good pellet gun.

The browning bl-22's are slick. The lever throw is only like 30* too, versus the 90* on a henry or marlin (correct me if i'm mistaken on that). The price tag was a tad too steep for me though. Henry also shoots S/L/LR, too, which is great.

So a kid made a status on facebook last night saying "who wants to help me make my hitlist?"

Now today he got arrested and sent to a loony bin, pretty crazy...

Nice. I want a levergun in .22 mag. And .44 mag. And maybe .357. Oh, and .45-70.

Way back when the Marlin 336 was only $265 at wally world my buddy bought one. fast forward a few years and he's married and his wife is about to squeeze out their first kid so he offers to sell it to me for $200, and he'd only shot one box of shells through it! I had wanted one for a while so I snatched it up. I had it for a few years and I only took it out once so I eventually sold it for $275. I would very much like to get a trapper carbine.

my first lever gun was a marlin 336c in 35 rem. still have it its my go too deer rifle!

You are correct. I think they call it the quarter throw lever. It is pretty sweet. Its got the gold trigger premium wood. Checkering and engraving, and yes they are pretty pricey, the only reason I have this one is because I got lucky. I was actually gonna buy a henry when I found this one. Bought it used 100% condition never fired for the same price as a Henry. I have turned down two offers to double my money already. I wanna pass this one down to my son someday, I will be keeping it.

In other news. I FINALLY got my stupid camera fixed on my phone yay!
