So, there is a university out in Washington D.C. that is trying to recruit me to start going there. I had to interpret for the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. She is trying to get me to come out and start going there. They have a doctorate interpreting program. Well actually they have 3 programs, an undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate program.

Well, DC is expensive, has too many people, is built in/next to a swamp, traffic sucks, and the roads are bad -- so it's a lot like St Louis, only with some pretty decent fresh seafood available.

You hit pretty much all of the points in why I don't want to do it.

Finally relaxing with a glass of lemonade tea and animal crackers. (No alcohol due to meds). I am now ready to go to bed so I can get back up at 3 a.m. to start cooking 25 pounds beans - Started soaking them at 6 this morning. Sliced up 10 # of onions (cleaned and skinned w/ a BK11), chopped another 10 # of onions to smithereens (skinned and cleaned w/ BK11, quartered w/ the 9). You think a 9 batons wood well??? You oughta see how easy it is to quarter a 4.5" onion. One smack of your palm on the spine and BAM, it's cut through. 3 smacks per onion and you're done. Then I used the 11 to chop up a dozen jalapenos and 5 # of ham with the 11. Found out that the 11 is shaped "just right" to scrape the seeds and seed ribs out with one twist of the wrist. Got all the spices and veggies measured out into 2 batches, the pots are set up in the garage on my double burner. Just gotta add water and dump all the ingredients in and stir every now and then for 6 hours.

2 batches... perfect, you can send one to me then, I'll PM you my address.

Isn't that the truth. Only time out I got was to replace the switch. Oh, and I fully deserved every one of them too.

My mom used a switch on me too.... and I had to pick my own when I got old enough... Lord help you if it wasn't a nice big green one..

Doc

Found one in Alabama.

I think mine is a queen country cousin. Nice one, D2 steel, I haven't used it for much though but its pretty nice.

That was the first mess kit set I ever bought. Soot sticks really bad to them, and they do scratch unless you use plastic or wooden cutlery. They are light though, and they hold a good bit of stuff. They definitely work though, and for the price (depending on what you find them for) they are definitely worth the investment. Think I snagged mine at ye olde Wal-Mart way back for something like $15.

That's a good beer. Wish there were more sours made. All I ever tend to see in supermarkets are ipas, lagers, maybe a stout or porter, and alcopops. When I do get to a nice beer selection, sours cost an arm and a leg.

In other news. I FINALLY got my stupid camera fixed on my phone yay!
