Speaking of beer, JerryD I didnt have the heart to drink that third Kentucky bourbon barrel stout that you left for Murph. He came by and drank it last night. He did however, miss his chance at the variety pack that you and I pretty much wiped out.

Too funny! I had to Google it to get the rest. I'm not too proud to admit that I drank a lot of Miller Lite in college since that was on tap at one of the bars that we could in to being a year or two under age... Growing up in St. Louis, I liked Bud, but and of the Busch variants seemed like watered down "Heineken". If you are going to drink horse by-products, you should do it at full strength.

Interestingly enough, I grew up in St. Louis, my ex-wife in Milwaukee, and my current lovely bride in Colorado, so we've got the three major cheap beer producing regions covered...
I grew up in Rochester, NY (though I'm a native of NH) and was introduced to beer through Genesee Cream Ale, AKA Genny Screamers. While it's on that list, it is the only mass produced beer that is not a light pilsner style. It is unique in that aspect. It's probably the only beer in that list that I would not decline if offered. There was a bottler's strike in Canada during the mid 80's and Genesee took advantage of that, driving truckloads of beer around the lake and parking them outside of all the Brewer's Retail stores in Ontario. The nightly news for a couple of weeks would show Canadians lined up at the trailers, buying Genny right from the trucks. Then the strike was over, and the last news shot was of cases and cases of unsold Genny beer; the newscasters were laughing and joking, saying "what are they gonna do with all that then, eh?". No self respecting Canadian would buy it once the strike was over and the Brewer's Retails opened back up.

About a month ago my work sent me on a business trip/schooling in Ohio. They had liquor stores the size of Wal-mart there. so much more variety than what we have here in small town Indiana. One of the guys that was in my class and I became quick buddies. (we both liked to drink) so, we went out a couple nights on "beer tours" and one of the liquor stores we went to had Genesse cream ale 30 packs for $14. bucks. this excited me, I love cream ales! and for $14 wadda steal. the problem was I have never had or heard of Genesse. I asked my newly acquired buddy about it, and his response was, "Oh man, If you ever take one thing I say as far as advice, let it be known that if this place was giving you $14 bucks to take it, It still wouldnt be worth it. That is the nastiest sh!t that will ever pass over a set of lips period. and I dont care who you are". I took that pretty seriously and didnt buy any.........Is it really that bad?

The candy factory I worked at for 13 years, and didn't call me back for the first time, called and wants me to go in for a week. I hate to, cause I don't care for em too much, but I need the money, and am going in. It's Christmas time, and they can't keep up, and I need the money.

Good for you Dubz. I'd take advantage of it too.

at least it is something and it is only a week...
Exactly.

I'm going to. I still have an interview today, and have to go to the unemployment office. I'm on that extended benefits thingy, because my unemployment ran out. It's only good for one more pay, but have to go in for the BS. If I don't, they can make me pay back the last few pays.

Theres no shame in going back to the place esspecially if your gonna hand you some money. I hate where I work with a passion as most of you know. But the fact is, at the end of the week they hand me money. good that you got hook up with a little something anyway.

I'm proud of you... You showed more restraint than I would have. Bourbon Barrel Stout is one of my favorites.

Gratuitous beer picture.

Too bad I broke one the night before or we could have had two a piece and Murph just would have been SOL. :D
Speaking of, we did put the hurt on that variety pack. The poor thing probably thought it was safe out since Murph didn't show up. That was good stuff, thanks!

Seems to have worked well for you. I would rather just keep you to ourselves though.
