To me, the only Katana-oids that are "insulting" are the nauseating Taiwanese stainless monstrosities.
They sorta look original and real, and ignorant buyers get "taken". I've seen it all too many times.
With the HI, you're buying something worth every penny you're paying, and you know what you're getting.
Anybody has a problem with THAT, they're "cordially invited to bite me!"

As to the Wakizashi: something like a Chaimpuri with the same rosewood for a grip and a similar black-leather-brass-cap scabbard would make for an interesting "matched set". I have less fondness for the Wak as a short sword than I do a fighting-type Khuk.
That said, asking the kamis to shorten the blade and grip while keeping the same style and tsuba (guard) should be fairly simple. We can sort that out later. I don't think I'll personally bother with that..."Skinnybeast" is already a better match
