The Flea Market Mung Absolution Thread

I will take the Esquire

Nice grab! If I hadn't just sharked an Esquire last friday I'd have been all over that one. The rosewood burl with the blue pinstripes really pops...gotta love complimentary colors.

I remember a time when you could not buy a scandi FB and they were as rare as hen's teeth on the Flea Market. Now there's five available in one post

And they're all still available!?! Crazy! Definitely a weird/soft market right now. Over saturation maybe?

Because each Fiddleback is unique -- we can't just order a model from a dealer and hold it and see if that model is right for us -- we need a functioning flea market to help us find the Fiddlebacks that really work for us. That's why I think of the flea market as more of a sorting mechanism. Searching for just the right knife is part of the pleasure of Fiddlebacks. We need that sorting mechanism. Without it all channels of the Fiddleback sales and distribution process can get plugged up. We need this "re-distribution" process.

Im gonna put a steel rake in my garden, blindfold myself and wander about till it slaps me for not grabbing the jade scandi recluse yesterday.

Knutelut, go easy on yourself my friend, because we all need something to look forward to! It was a beautiful knife.

Wonder why the lonestars aren't liked much seems people can't give them away I like mine. Is it because people are scared to break the tip?

In my opinion that particular blade shape belongs in a folding knife. It is purely aesthetic for me.

I used to carry an EDCII in a LH RLO pocket sheath every day. That is until I got a Lonestar. Now I carry a Lonestar in my LH RLO pocket sheath. I have a LH belt sheath to carry it with as well. I love the point for a lot of tasks that I use an EDC blade for. Granted, the tip would be a lot more prone to breaking than the EDCII counterpart, but I just find that the shape is more useful for me.
