In case people have missed it, this is the forum for idle chit-chat regarding knives for sale on the Flea Market. Commenting in sales threads is heavily discouraged at bladeforums unless you're in the Customs Exchange. Some folks have been slippin' lately.

Yeah. And what looks like a market-under-cutting-and-saturation approach isn't helping things much either. I withdrew the Bear Cub. It's worth more than I was asking, so I'm just not going to cut the price to compete. I'll just keep it and sell something else in a different market.

I've said similar although less eloquently before. I hate to see these knives undervalued, but sometimes you have no choice and need to move things along.

Lol, yeah I know that feeling too. So I guess owning too many knives can fit into that somehow...

The Duke is killing me. But, like many on here, I've got blades on the market that just won't move. I've cut the prices too much as well, and even that isn't moving them.

So no Duke for me.

I won't be selling any anytime soon either Tony. Made the mistake of letting a few go for less than what they were worth but not anymore

I think it is good form, out of respect for the forge, not to publicly devalue the product in this market. A simple "contact me with reasonable offers" should be sufficient. IMHO, multiple price reductions push me off a sale. I understand people want to sell. But, $20 - $50 isn't going to make a difference for me if I love the knife. We all must follow our own path, however. Please note, this is not directed at any person.

I agree with you Panthera. I posted a bunch of blades at serious discount prices hoping that I could move them quickly. But I think your approach is the better one.

And, this would be a reason to support removal of the sale price once the sale is complete. Some people replace the price with SOLD while others do not like that practice. There are pros and cons but I agree that its up to the seller to decide.

Hasco's Ladyfinger in 10753 is killing me. Like others though, not having much luck selling.

On the bright side, it's definitely not just Fiddlebacks that are moving slow.

I think the economy is killing us. It's the end of summer and we're all broke

There's a ton I want. A ton I've had that's I've had to sell to help out. I'm on a fixed limited income for now so I save and then spring for a few lol then gotta save again.

My oldest daughter started college today. Your statement is very true.

Congrats! (as well as some consolation since I'm sure that's a somewhat emotional thing also)

Additionally, this gives you a great occasion to buy a knife for her. :-)
