Simon/sirupate,limbo, ghurka and whatever else is gone. He was caught in multiple identities in violation of Blade forum policy and has been banned by Industrial Super Mods.

If a fellow had what he thought was a good idea, why wouldn't he come out straight with it? Why put another fellow's efforts down to boost his own?

These, and other 'deep' troll questions will confuse this munk for many years to come.

If so, that IS pathetic. You would think that the guy would at least have enough conviction in his own product that he wouldn't have to resort to such juvenile tactics as creating other personalities just to agree with himself...
 
I'm wondering if he talks to himself in his forum and how many other past persons he has been here.

The really ironic thing is, at the end of the day, there's a pic on the Tora forums of a kitchen khuk from Nepal, followed by some positive comments. It resembles nothing more than an HI WWII model, complete with cho creep. (It does, however, feature a non-habaki bolster.) Evidently non-traditional garbage is used by Nepal's butchers as well.

I just read Cougar's "Walking the Plank" announcement for this. It really was all the same person, evidently.

"Pathetic" does not do this justice. Say want you want about the man's communication skills but until this point, I did have some respect for him.

"Did," being the operative word here.
 
I had my suspicions that he was doing the multiple idenitity thing. The all-caps was there to throw us off, but they all had the same abominable command of the language.
Anyway, good riddance. At one time I might have wanted to see if his product was decent, but I won't buy from someone who's shown they are not decent...
 
Wheew...here I thought there was a whole club full of jerks, its good to know that instead there was just one jerk.

Satori great catch on that Dharan butcher khuk. I guess even Nepalis who need to use khukuris for their daily bread are being suckered into buying tourist khukuris. That should be Simon's new mission, to sell real khukuris to the poor misguided Nepalis who have grown up using fake tourist khukuris their whole lives. :eek: :D :p
 
Indeed. The more reading that I do, the more disgusted that I become.

On a positive note, my refridgerator is stocked with ice cold Red Hook Blonde Ale, purchased for a barbecue last night that was a bust. Now I've got to get rid of a twelve pack of the stuff because it doesn't keep well. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

One way or the other, this night will be good.

Some of the folks over there seem like good people. It's hard to tell without actively engaging in conversation with them but that's my thought on it. I was planning on registering, but after this?

Maybe sometime in the future, but not right now. As I said, some of the folks seem like good people and I'd love to chat with them.
 
This saddens me. He seems to have a bunch of information about khuks, a good lady (Kohei/Leanne (sp?)), and a love for Nepal and its people. He sure put his foot in it this time.
 
Simon has pretty much ruined himself on BF with this. He's definitely not doing Tora's kamis any favors here. Some good may come out of this: if Tora does end up going down the tubes over this, maybe the kamis can come over to Birghorka. We'd get all the "traditional" khukuris we'd want and they'd get the representation they deserve.

He did, no one was awed by his LeRnT behavior and thus he had to resort to other tactics. The first was why everyone should listen to him with his impressive background, when that didn't work he tried to get others to speak for him, apparently he doesn't have anyone so he created them.

Many people are used to others accepting what they say as word from on high. When faced with people who actually question, counter point, and ask for references they bluster, threaten, insult, and attack the other posters as being ignorant/unworthy of a reply.

It is an all too common approach on the internet especially when people jump out of small forms they are mod's on and move to larger forums, especially ones that are not mod'ed. It tends to turn sour fast on rec.knives for this reason, when someone comes in pushing hype. It doesn't sell there at all.

Compare this to how Bill would have handled the same question, as I asked him, his responce was simple "Why ask me, I sell them, ask the guys that use them." (paraphrase - but you get the point).

The only sad part is that there are probably talented people making the blades which could use the advertizing the forum would provide, however it would be hard for them to make any gateway here now with the smear Simon has created.
