Thank you Rob. A sweetheart of a Rodgers there:thumbsup::thumbsup:
You were instrumental in my search for these wunderfully made patterns!!
Gev provided the link in the “Tottin’” thread and I just couldn’t resist, with so many great examples shown here.
Love this Schmid! They were finely made knives.

Wow Cal! Old Sheffield goodness

Whole other level them! I'm afraid I shall be staring at those pics for quite some time.
Have you them long?
I purchased them in 2021 and 2019, respectively. The tortoise (?) handled knife came from a dealer in Argentina. I was sweating that transaction, but the knife arrived safe and sound. Several knowledgeable people have chimed in on the covers but it is still controversial as to the material.

Gus, glad to hear I was instrumental in your appreciation of these exceptionally well made gents knives:thumbsup: or maybe not, now that I think about it I haven't picked one up in awhile
Seriously though, your Schmid reminds me of this NYK Co which is smaller at 3 3/8" and happens to be another one of my favorites

Congratulations, they are really very beautiful, I've saved the pics. There's very few opportunities to hold an example of workmanship of that caliber let alone own it. Many examples similar in this thread.
As to the tortoise shell, I can't imagine anything lesser being used on something so prodigious??!

My Henckels is real tortoise shell, the nibbles prove it. Sweet little thing and a good carry for me.
