The history of the schrade 8ot from 1960 to the 2004 anniversary knives.

Mine's an 80T, I got it back in Cub Scouts so anywhere from 87' to 90' (it looks a lot like that "Frontiersman" that they only made in 90' but I don't know, perhaps OP can tell?). I like the 881 a lot and honestly I think need to get a hold of more slip joint knives. 73' and it's still doing work eh? Good knife...

Ken, I don’t tire of seeing your Schrade collection...especially that last one, the saw cut bone!!!

This is the correct box for the 1961 Bone 8OT...Ken
This is my Every-day-user, an early Walden 8OT with Bone handle.
Ah, those were the days when manufactures took pride in presentation. (referring to the box) And now I know why it's so hard to find U.S. made Schrades over here Ken, because you seem to have them all? ;)
About U.S. made Schrade knives as daily users, I have been seriously considering carrying my 8OT.

I must correct the date of the first 8OT "Old Timer" knives.
The first 2OT "Old Timer" knives were sold in 1959-60.
The first 8OTs were first sold in 1961.

Twenty five years after the first "Old Timer", Schrade sold the 34OT SS.
The 34OT SS, came in [almost the same box as the first 2OTs and 8OTs] mines some small nails.
