Okay. I couldn't tell from your statement above that you were making that distinction. The idea that urban settings require stronger edges than wilderness settings seems to me a little hard to defend without making some very broad assumptions.

Edited to add: Everyone has to determine for himself which geometry works best for his needs--didn't mean to imply otherwise. If your needs suggest a thicker edge, so be it. Certainly, if you use your knife primarily as a breaching tool, as in firefighting work, edge strength may be more important than cutting efficiency.
