In honor of Stump's epic "Hog vs Dogs" victory hunt and the return of the Viking (Hi Rags!), how about a "Basics Rule" pic-of-the-day? :D

Truly beautiful photo of a well-loved knife. Glad to hear you and the combat cat are doing well. :thumbup:

Cold right now; had to pick up water this morning for my scotch (to brush my teeth), but had to brush them in only scotch as the water was frozen...:D

I always heard the life of a Viking was tough, but had no idea. :eek:

At least you didn't have to use akvavit! :D

Pic of the day quota... MET!

The slicing, batoning, and chopping abilities of our favorite 8 inch INFI iteration are well documented...

however the prying prowess of the powerful Basic 8 is but rarely mentioned...

BEHOLD!

I believe it was Archimedes who said, "Give me a B8, the Moon for a fulcrum, and a firm place to stand and I will move the world!"

my hiking rig featuring old number 85...85 is with me when I'm trekking and when I'm in my truck, she rides shotgun...a great friend she is to me! Thanks Jerry & Crew! :)

^^^ I'm really impressed with what a strong chopper and prybar the B8 is, to be so light and packable. Great primary grind and edge profile combination, also. What a worker! Truly an amazing package. :thumbup:

I can almost picture Rags at a dinner party, eating fish, drinking akvavit, and singing songs.:D:D

^^^ THIS! :D

Yes Will, it`s amazing when chopping, there is something about the blade vs. handle weight ratio which makes it in a class of it`s own. Done mine with grit 8000 compound and a leather strop, not really nessesary as it was from the factory, but i like my knives sharp...

B-8 vs. SHe with its assym. grind, they are miles apart when it comes to chopping, balance on the B-8 makes a whole lot of diffrence...

I know just what you mean. When the SH-e came out, I was convinced it was the best possible choice for a go-to mid-size knife. Then I got my first Basic 7. It was so much lighter and chopped just as well, so I switched. THEN the B8--truly, as you say--in a class by itself. :thumbup:

Whoo Hoo! GREAT PICS ALL!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Sooo Nice to come home to these!!!

OK... gotta go again, but not before a BASIC BUMPEROOSKIE!!!!:cool:
