I would buy a bunch of these if they look like your photoshopped prototype, Will……

Thanks brutha--we can hope, right? As you say, I'd love to see a Skinny in that configuration and also a standard (.22-.25") or magnum-thickness (.27") offered in the same profile. I'm as ready to stock up on these puppies as you are.

I'll take a B8. Possibly a couple if they come in variations. A skinny fighter version would be nice, with a bowie clip point.

Maybe we could get a Basic 5 LE to go along with it, might give this pair a run for the money. I've settled on this Hell Razor as my wilderness survival knife and the INFI RMD as my urban EDC/Survival knife……..

That's a helluva good idea. Would love to see satin LE versions of the original Basics someday.

I'm in for at least one...

Will, what would the advantages of choil-free be compared to choiled? Besides, of course, a bit more sharpened edge...

I ask because I'm a choil-guy too!

Eliminates a potential snag point, brings the edge closer to the handle which allows for more leverage during cutting, looks better (IMO)….. :)

Also, the span from the end of the handle to where the edge starts on the Basic 11, 10 and 6 with choils has been quite a stretch, which means if you use the choil for choking up there's a major gap between the index finger and the other fingers--somewhat awkward. I find that my index finger can brace comfortably against the bottom of the Resiprene "guard", with the lip of the guard and the bottom of the talon resting on the finger, when choking up on any of the Basic line. I like the small "elf choils" on the old crinkle-coat Basics and frequently use that hold to choke up on a Basic 7--perfect for me. Should be able to do the same thing with a no-choil Basic 8. I do also like having an edge close to the handle that's razor sharp for control work--and power, as aaaa_cccc indicates, especially in a pull-cut as when cutting rope.
