THE Hollow Handle Knife Thread

You know folks, I have one of the rarest hollow handle knives ever made and quite possibly the rarest First Blood movie tribute knives made as well. It was made by C Canadian master knife maker Bill Schiller. Schiller made 2 of these knives, both for the same person. It's not known what happened to one of these fine knives; only that it is not in existence anymore (speculation). This makes the one I have quite rare and prestigious. I have had at least 13 high amount money offers for this knife and have turned down every one of them. The last offer I had was $3400. Sometimes you just have that one thing that money just simply cannot buy!!

My Schiller FB knife is just about the Best made knife of its kind I have ever seen Excluding the Original Jimmy Lile FB knives and my FB knife made by another Canadian knife maker, Ray Matton. And since Schiller was Ray's mentor and knife making teacher and close friend, I don't compare the two FB knives against each other.

The blade on my Schiller knife is the straightest, most perfectly made FB blade I've evr seen on a knife. The split serations are all mint even. The handle is thick, firm, and weighty. When you hold this badass knife, you know beyond a doubt that you are surely holding one of the highest quality handmade FB knives that there has ever been made!! I am just super proud to be the owner of such a stupendously made knife...And one that was truly made by one of the world's best knife makers ever!!! And it just goes to prove that not Every master knife maker comes from the U.S. Of A. These awesome craftsmen come from all over!!!!

The pic of my knife I just posted might not be a good one. Looks like my knife is spotted or got blemishes on it. However it does not. Those are just shadows of things around where I took the pic. Will make a better pic soon.

I did some work on my path to my creek, removed a tree that was right in the way. Did it with the Martin mce2 and took a few pics along the way.

Demon,

That's a great looking knife for sure. Thanks for the photo! I really like the design and look of the sheath with the double snaps and the leather flap that protects the handle. Very, very nice!

Thanks TAH. The sheath did not come with the knife. I had the sheath custom made by a local sheath maker and my good friend, Mr. Bob Schrap. I gave him my design requests of the double snap straps and double snaps, and he made it. Thanks again buddy!

My Andrew Clifford handmade knives and hollow handle knives are some of the best knives ever made. One of mine used to belong to a U.S. Soldier who was in both Mid East wars and who used and carried the knife in both wars!! I am sure that if knives could talk, that there knife could really share some war and combat stories. Not sure why the soldier's family was selling it. But I am sure proud to be the owner of a knife that defended one of America's Finest elite soldiers!!

Anyway, saying all that to say this: If Andy's knives are good enough to become part of a soldier's everyday gear pack, then they are damn good enough for me, and anyone else for that matter!!!

Demon, I like your Andrew Clifford knife in the middle. The one with the full tang, finger grooves and extended tang. That knife looks like it is all business.

Thanks TAH!! My baby brother died back in 2012. He was just 36. Anyway, just as I did to honor my Dad's memory who died in 2010, I contacted Andy again and gave him the news about my brother's death. I asked him once again to design and make a knife in honor and loving memory of Justin. Andy asked me a little bit about Justin and whom he was, what he liked, etc...I gave Andy some details and about 4 or 5 months later he sent me pics of this knife that he designed and made.

I loved the knife Immediately!! My brother was ex-military and he was rugged, mean, and all business. But he had a heart of gold towards those that he loved. And so, the knife you said you like here was made in loving memory of my brother Justin. It's design and look fits who he was to a T!!! And I plan to take it and have it engraved with Justin's name on it and his DOB-DOD and also his military service years.

Andy liked his own design so much that he started offering it to others. But he created this knife for my request. And it's not numbered but of course, mine is the very first one of its kind. I've nicknamed the knife The Shakey Rooster because that was my brothers nickname.

Demon,

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your father and brother. That's a lot for anyone to handle within a short period of time. I can see why that particular knife is special to you. Stay strong for the rest of your family!

Thanks TAH. My Mom had already passed away. Both her and my Grandma (her Mother) died back in 1998 back-to-back of each other. I got only one half-brother left.

I look at it this way: Whatever hardship a person goes through just makes them stronger and wiser. And as long as something does that, then it's not all bad or all wasted time.

Anyway, back to knives. I am currently having 2 knives made by Sam Wilson. I have one from him already and let me tell ya, that knife is a true beast and in my opinion unstoppable!! Sam does awesome knife making because he puts his heart and imagination into it!! And believe me, it shows.

After these 2 from Sam, my goal is to save up for and get either the Rescue knife or the Rambo 3 knife made by Gil Hibben, who is also another good friend of mine, he and his wife Linda. Well I have to jet. Got a Dr. Appt. today in a bit. Ttyl8r.

I had this sheath system made by Grizzly Outdoors, intended to provide one package with all... Altoids tin, hollow handled knife, Leatherman, and fire steel. A little heavy, but I like the single package approach.

Hello,

This is my first post in the forum discussion areas, must say that the superb and beautiful HH knives posted here are truly a showcase in craftmanship and style.

I to have been fascinate with the HH/survival knife since watching First Blood when I was a young boy...always dreamed of having a specimen of that same knife. ..then the Rambo 2 bowie type one. The fascination have continue until today, hope to some day find and be able to buy a Ray Matton First Blood tribute knife as well as one of the "Commando" movie Life Support System knife by Crain...hope some day will finally find them both and add them to the small collection. I am waiting right now for my Sly-II knife by Mr.Clifford and ordering a Newt Martin MCE-II, both superb and beautiful designed knifes, each one similar BUT different, that's why I like them soooo much!!!
