Very cool Mark that took a hell of a beating before breaking.
I would bet a pretty good amount of money that there are a lot of regular fixed blades that would break in exactly the same way and place with that kind of weight on it. Not one of my personal knives you understand lol, but I'd bet pretty much any blade of the same thickness would break about the same way.
Got out in the woods and played with the new Martin mce2. Chops very well a good deep bite and retains the edge to still make a feather stick to start a fire with. The saw back works well notching limbs too, the raker teeth on the front clear out the cut while the split teeth on the spine do the work.

All in all its a tough very well made knife, apocalypse rated just like my toyota fj.
Its a 2mm micro paracord, grippy and not as huge as regular 550 cord, still very strong. Barge line works great too if you want black or the brighter green color #36 is the size. The micro paracord comes in a ton of colors though. I got it from a seller on ebay who carries a lot of colors. Make sure you get the 2mm cord though it does come in other sizes.
Congrats on the Wall knife, post up some pics.
I've been fantisizing about the MCE2 lately. I'm hoping to try and save up for one (or a Busse NMSFNO from the custom shop) by xmas. If I decide on the Martin I just need to decide if I want to go with A2 or splurge and go with s35vn. Cricketdave, just curious on which steel you went with on your MCE2?
