:D

Why is this the holy grail?

You already have one on order from me. All you have to do is send me, you know, the money, and I'll send you the knife. :D

Trains leave PA heading west all the time, 555. Just load one of those box cars up and send that cash out my way. :D :D  :D :D

That order must be from over 2 years ago which makes it less of an order and more like History. LOL

This knife order is so old that they are Printing it in 2010 school books. Just check any History book Copyright 2010, Page 555.

Besides, I used PayPal: (I'll Pay you the low ball price of $4.99 with FREE Shipping later Pal. :D)

:D:D

Something like this, from Wolfgang Loerchner.

Nice, looks like it just landed from the rodanagonalon galaxy. My grail knife would be a nice classy but not to blingy custom linerlock or framelock folder with a wootz blade.

Mine is one that I can beat the heck out of and know it will stand up to everything I throw at it.

Pic borrowed from Scott's site.

I collect USA - Old Timer knives, so the "Holy Grail" for me is any model I don't already have. I've gotten several Holy Grails this year alone. :D

Either one of these would pretty much do it for me......

I don't even know.......

It used to be a MAknives knife. But he's just way WAY out of my pricerange.

If you are talking holy grail based on general $, then it would probably be one of the sheffield made bowies, IIRC, they are usually considered to be the most expensive of knives, not including swords of course.

Id like to find another Al Mar Smatchett for a reasonable price and keep it this time.Maybe.All of those early Al Mar designs were really cool.

The knife used by Christ at the Last Supper? That would be the real Holy Grail of knife collecting.

How about the sword which Peter used to cut off the high priest's servant's ear at Jesus' arrest?

Buster Warensky's King Tut dagger or a D.E. Henry bowie.

I am reminded of a scene in a long-forgotten movie in which the hero is shown a table covered with cups and told, "One of these is the Holy Grail. If you choose the right one, then you will succeed. But if you choose the wrong one, you will die horribly!" Or some such thing. He looks them all over, many encrushed with gems, many of precious materials. He selects the smallest and plainest of the group. And he is pronounced correct!

The Holy Grail is not the Holy Grail because it is necessarily the fanciest or most ornate. It has value beyond any material cost because of its history! That is real value which can not be duplicated. That King Tut Dagger is exquisite, no doubt. But, if nobody has already then someday some man will make something better.

The Sandbar Bowie, on the other had, is likely -- if it is ever found -- a remarkably plain knife. And yet its value would well exceed that dagger because its value comes from history which can never be repeated.
