The hyping of Chris Reeve Knifes

I completely agree with you. Life was much simpler without all of these things that were supposed to make our lives, well.... simpler.

Yeah and one could actually make it through a stop light back then, not like today because most are too busy texting to pay attention to what is going on around them like the light changed to green...

Gosh, I got sucked into all of that. Tired me out.
Goodbye, guys/girls. Have a good day.

Waterford, you made a thread not long ago asking for advice on this forum whether to buy a BM 580 or ZT 0550. If that's the style of knife you are interested in, I can see why the simple plain grey Sebenza doesn't appeal to you. But why make such a provocative post about a knife that clearly isn't your thing anyway? I own a couple of Griptilians but the ZT knives have absolutely no appeal to me. I don't feel the need however to create a dedicated thread about them being overhyped, hit or miss quality, or it's owners being this or that (low) part of society...especially when I haven't even touched one or met someone who owns one. It's just bad taste imo.

Some of these members have got to lighten up here a bit, we are talking about a hobby here, some are being overly sensitive about this discussion.

SusAntigoon, you need to go back and read my comments. I actually stated that I like the look of the Sebenzas. I said
I rather like the retro old school plain look and I also said the knife is a quality piece, I was just questioning the blade
performance!
Get the information correct before you make statements.

As with most things some tend to take things they own very personal and everything related to that is a very big deal to them.

Also most do seem to be very thin skinned these days... ;)

Man oh man.

Its hard to argue with success, but people always find a way. I can't think of another production knife company that has had such a limited offering for so long at such prices and has had no loss of demand. CRK has always strived to produce quality, and its been the paying customers that have responded, more so then any YouTube video maker, or anyone with a negative opinion of them, and is that not the point? CRK can't satisfy everyone no matter what they did, but they are doing just fine. More then just fine actually. They were impressing back when they started, when their was a fraction of quality knives in the marketplace compared to today, and lo and behold, today all the competition hasn't seemed to make much difference. If one can't tip their hat to that, well, what's it really matter?

I only have one CRK, an umnumzaan, and its not my favorite, don't even carry it anymore.

Um, we're going to get this thread closed.

At his point, I think that's a good idea. How many Sebenza threads do we need? How many posts, how many insults, how many people are talking about each other, rather than about the knives?

Ehhh, th-th-that's all, folks!
