what i was saying is there is no theroy or skill taught 50 or 60 years ago that he knows that can not be taught, learned and added to by a younger student. chris reeves building is the standard now but is somebodys foundation to add to, change, improve and prefect. chris's building is not perfect or timeless

Where is Waterford...the guy who started this thread? And who are you? Start your own thread..somewhere else.

you obviously cant add anything to the conversation..... are valid points hard to rebut? or is your old age and experience just getting to you? please name one thing you understand that a young man or woman could not learn and understand better than you......

How to converse socially with other people sitting in the same room. All you younger people know how to do is to sit there with your eyes on your lap, dumbly playing with your Smartphone. Should make for a fine new civilization in about 20 years. Every adult will be mute; no need to speak anymore, so the ability to converse vocally will be wiped out of the DNA. Look around and tell me I'm wrong...

There is a lot of truth to that....

HAHA here we go. Back in my day people used to actually look at each other when they spoke, and we wore an onion on our belt 'cause that was the style at the time you see! Please, i'm 24 and quite capable of holding a face to face conversation. Sweeping generalisations like that are nothing but ignorant and insulting. Painting a whole generation with one broad stroke shows your age.

Get your dazed, hazed, cross phased head outta your bum Sonny boy ;)

Maybe, just maybe, some people (not singling anyone out nor launching a "blanket" attack) need to put their big boy pants on and move on with their lives, care less about what someone they don't even know thinks about their taste in cutlery, and stop getting all butt-hurt over someone else's opinion.

I saw where Walgreens has a special on Kleenex. Looks like some folks here need a bulk pack.

Look who's talking about caring less about what people post. Look in the mirror little boy.

Hey, did you all know that there is an ignore feature on this here forum? How cool... someone wants to make childish comments instead of acting like an adult, or dissing your favorite knife, you can ignore them.

Thanks, BF!!!!

I also wonder how many guys who are buying CRK are dead broke, living in their parent's basement, racking up credit card debt due to this addiction and obsession.

Try replacing the word "CRK" with iPads, Smartphones, etc.

Definitely agree with you there. The price people pay to have the latest consumer gizmo is unreal. And in a year or two, they do it again. A CRK, or any quality knife for that matter, is for life.

This is a very interesting and repetitive post you've got going here. Your post "The hyping of Chris Reeve Knifes" is not asking a question but rather making a statement, you do not have the experience needed to make such a statement, You Don't Own One. The paying of $425.00 or $1400.00 for a knife is a personal one and should not concern you, keep within your budget and buy what you can afford. What a person does with the knife they bought has nothing to do with you, whether I like flicking, using, collecting or even giving them to friends has nothing to teach you, your only insight into the world of Chris Reeve Knives is to buy one. The fact that you just joined the forum and are making such bold statements leads me to believe your a TROLL using the forum for personal satisfaction.

Hi,

The overwhelming general consensus on ALL the forums is that Chris Reeve Knifes make the best production/semi-custom knives available today. I have spent many days perusing all the
forums reading all the CRK fan boy comments...."best knife on earth", "it just feels right", etc. Ok, well thats all fine, BUT the mast majority of these folks NEVER mention the blade performance
or talk about the blade's cutting ability or the blade's edge retention or how long it holds a razor sharp edge. It ALL about fit, feel and finish and NOT the important part of how the blade cuts
and performs....I dont get it.

A very popular You Tube channel member put the large Sebenza 21 to a cutting test, and it failed miserably! Than tester got nasty, immature comments from the all CRK fanboys. It certainly
appears to me that his blades are mediocore at the very best, and very hit and miss with quality control. To me , that is unacceptable for a $425.00 knife.

So, do most of the CRK Sebenza owners buy these knives simply to play with and constantly and mindlessly flick it open and closed while sitting on the couch watching TV, or, they they acutally
use them daily and if so, what are you results with the blade performance?

Please understand this is just my opinion from all the reading I have done and the videos I have watched.

Mr. Russell, I have nothing but the highest level of respect for you, but I am not playing a game. The young man asked the question and I answered.

In an age where so much communication is accomplished with the written word, it is now more important than ever to be able to construct your thoughts and display them in a manner that shows you actually care about what you are trying to convey. As the reader of these thoughts, why should we care about what someone has to say if they don't care enough to write out their thoughts in a clear and correct manner?

I agree, for the most part. But I'm wondering whether the younger set, due in part to cell-phone texting, is in the process of developing their own new language/vocabulary/alphabet communication capabilities, that have very little to do with our presumed standards. Perhaps it's part of the process of "dumbing-down" that will make the fall of the Roman Empire appear to be repeating itself.

The English language is an ever evolving amalgam of gobbledeegook :) Ever try reading Shakespeare, wtf is that?? Certainly not the English we speak today.

I don't think people creating acronyms and forgetting to capitalise words will cause the modern world to decay into anarchy. I do agree if you want to be taken seriously, you should learn how to spell and speak properly. The next 'fall of the Roman Empire' will be on a global scale imo.

Are you reelin’ in the years
Stowin’ away the time
Are you gathering up the tears
Have you had enough of mine?

But now we're off-topic. Buy what you like, the rest is gravy.
