Inkosi... Better than the Sebenza... View attachment 2044983
I’ve gone back and forth so many times but over the last two years or so I’ve really grown to prefer the Inkosi. It just feels like a stouter knife. Bigger washers, bigger pivot, bigger stop pin. I’m a fan of the ceramic ball lockup also. The finger grooves are usually hit or miss for people. They either work or they don’t. I don’t mind the thicker blade for work, helps rolling and chipping. The sebenza is a better slicer tho. You’d be perfectly fine with either, mainly just preferenceI am curious why you think Inkosi is a better knife. Blade grind? Larger washers?
What do people like better than sebenza? I know I’m with an Inkosi crowd. I’m genuineness curious. I’ve never handled one

Question for Inkosi owners. Does the drop point blade thicken up behind the edge at the belly like the Sebenza does?
Now you've got me going back to watch the Apostle P. I do have a vague memory of him saying that, although I may be getting that confused with his video on the Umnumzaan. In any case, I recently measured behind the edge thickness on a pair of 21s and a pair of 31s. All four knives are thicker at the belly than at the heel. Also, it's a simple trick to avoid widening the bevel on a fixed angle system. It's just a matter of how you clamp it.Side note- I saw a video by ApostleP that showed the 31 doesn’t thicken the bevel at the tip, unlike the 21. I wonder if anyone has noticed this while sharpening. He showed a constant bevel width using a set angle on the 31. The 21 bevel widens using a guided system, that always bothered me.
Back to your regularly schedule Inkosi program…
If it’s the one I’m thinking of, you got a heck of a deal! I was watching and wondering why no one grabbed that one. I would have but already got one as well as a large Inkosi.Just snagged another small Inkosi on the exchange! Should be here tomorrow! I can’t wait. I like my large Inkosi….but the small was my favorite! And I have xxl hands…. Ha
I was thinking the same also. I hesitated for a few days then I decided to grab it.. I have a small 21 and a large Inkosi currently. But the one I missed the most was the small Inkosi I had about 5 years ago.If it’s the one I’m thinking of, you got a heck of a deal! I was watching and wondering why no one grabbed that one. Hmm, never handled a small inkosi. I may give one a try, but I always found the small sebbie too small...Just snagged another small Inkosi on the exchange! Should be here tomorrow! I can’t wait. I like my large Inkosi….but the small was my favorite! And I have xxl hands…. Ha
Well the small Inkosi is even smaller!Hmm, never handled a small inkosi. I may give one a try, but I always found the small sebbie too small...
And more "stout". I'm aware, just wondering if the grasping grooves (which I wish were not so prominent on the Large Inkosi) might make a difference on the small.Well the small Inkosi is even smaller!
