The Junglas Machete

Do we have any idea of the blade design? Will it look like the Puerto Rican, Swamp Master, Outback, Viking..... I can't wait....although my Condor Golok just came with a blade that is bent to the tune of about 1/2". It is slightly twisted and bent. :confused: I am sure the Rat master will make sure these problems are not seen on the Rat Machete. :D

I believe it'll be based on the El Salvador model. :)

For what it's worth the Golok is one of the first models that Condor has made that's had distal taper, and they're made by hand so they probably just haven't gotten 100% used to making them that way. :o
 
I saw the Junglas on the RAT site yesterday.. and it looks to be just what I am after.

Question for R.A.T

Can you confirm that there will NOT be a finger notch/choil on the ricasso on this knife?

I am hoping that the design has the edge running all the way to the ricasso.. but there is a thumb over that area in the photo.

I just got 2 Condor goloks in, I dont have any twisting or bending of the blades. One of them has a small chip at the tip, about 1/16 inch, but I figure its going to be hard use, and for $30, the S&H cost to return it would pay for half another new one. I like the condor golok, so far.

I would love to see a RC golok, that would be amazing if RC came out with one. In reality I know this will be as close to a golok as RC will make. Still, I am enthusiastically looking forward to the new RC Lite and Junglas blade, I am sure to get both.
 
wow. this is gonna be a great woodworking tool. sorta reminds me of that rtak ll by ontario. although im sure this has a much better fit and finsih. and hopefully a better sheath

I asked Jeff about a choil when in his original thread about this knife. It does look like he could be covering one up in the photo :D. No choil was his answer :thumbup:
 
Wanna bump this to the first page, so that those that went to SHOW dont forget to share the goods.

Man this couldn't of came at a better time, i was looking to get an Ontario RTAK II. But i'll hold off for this.
Hope the ESEE logo makes it to the production knife.
