The Kershaw Speedforms have arrived.

Sweet knife Morrow.I'm going to have to try that Elmax steel out.

If you can't get your hands on a Speedform (you still can if you look), take a look at the Speedform II when it comes out. It's a bit smaller with a G-10 handle and Elmax steel.

You know what small feature I'm really digging on this knife? The bias cut on the lockbar to act as a lock limiter or lock stop. I've been giving the lockbar some good hard pushes and that cut on the bias really does work. Brilliant!

Thanks Tony. It's a cool feature that can go unnoticed.

If anyone knows a dealer out there that has one of these babies not yet claimed, could they shoot me a PM or e-mail? I completely missed the pre-order on this one (kinda like I did the Volt), but I'm really hoping for lightning to strike twice and me get lucky again.

Great pics, BTW!

I just emailed the dealer I buy from asking about availability. This one sorta sneaked past me so I hope to be able to score one!

Guess I must have lived right after all!:) Just got an email telling me that a Speedform has been reserved for me to pick up when I'm ready. I got the Volt, so I have to have the Speedfprm!

Just got one in the mail today (thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction), and it's quickly become my favorite non-flipper knife. It feels better in hand than you'd expect from the pictures, and while I'm pretty sure this'll end up a safe queen, I've got no doubts it would be a fantastic user.

thread revival.....

how is the clip attached? looks to go through the pivot, what keeps it from spinning?

So here's how it works. There is a pocket milled out in the Ti over the female side of the pivot pin. The female side of the pivot pin is drilled and tapped for the clip screw. The clip can be taken off the knife and the knife will operate normally with no issues.

So the female side of the pivot is not only drilled and tapped for the pivot screw, but it is also drilled and tapped on the opposite side as well for the clip screw. With the clip fitting right into the pocket and then being screwed in, it stays very tight.

I'm looking for someone who can mill out the same pocket on the opposite end of the knife so I can carry it tip up.

It looks like that would be comfy for extended cutting. It's a beautiful piece, it does not surprise me one bit that it won 2009 BLADE Magazine American Made Knife of the Year. I mean, just look at it.

Ah yes, the Volt. That is a great design too. This one just looks so streamlined, I haven't seen too many pieces that look like this.

Only 250 produced I believe (?). I'm the proud owner of #109. This one is gonna be short lived.

It is an amazing knife for the cost.

Mine is #251.

I'm very sorry, but I fail to see any beauty in this model
Comparing to the Volt - looks like....well....not good

To me, it is very eligant in it's simplicity.

I dare say that Kershaw is making one of the best framelocks available today! My Ti Tyrade, and Volt are absolutely flawless in operation and in lockup. I expect the Speedform I have coming in on Thursday to be as well.:)

I had planned to skip this one, but the more I looked at it, and then seeing the picture of the knife in hand sold me on this one. I'm just glad I was able to get one since I did not get on any preorder list for it.

Bit the bullet today and ordered one. Just don't see much else for that price that is competitive with regard to:

-style
-steel type
-blade length
-framelock
-ti
-made in USA
-warranty
-rarity/collectibility
-sheeple friendly
-blade shape easy to sharpen (no recurve or serrations)

Update: started feeling guilty that I have spent too much lately on folders with blades the same length + 2 more on the way + on ZT waiting list so cancelled the order before it was processed further. I must be crazy but sometimes you have to listen to your head even when your heart disagrees.
