The Kershaw Speedforms have arrived.

Noway, you must reconsider! I just got mine today and it is a very well made and a very sleek heavy-duty framelock. I think it is less than 300 made so when they are gone, they are gone!!:thumbup::D

Mine arrived today... #13... as was previously mentioned it's heavy and sleek and the composite blade looks terrific. Well worth the wait!

I was going to wait until my birthday (Nov 2) to order one but figured they might sell out before then. It should arrive next week but the hard part will be leaving the package unopened until November.

man that will be a happy day :D :D

Are you guys sure on the limited production run #s? I knew they were way behind on the expected release date but I figured they wouldn't compound it by keeping the #s so low. Anyhow, new guy here from MD. and I must be doing something right as #194 came in today and I just found out they were released (finally) on Tuesday night. :D

Maybe without an explanation of my use of "compound" would clarify what I was attempting to convey. I was among many people eagerly awaiting the Speedform last winter/spring and had even "pre-ordered". After several months I was sent an email and had my CC credited back as they were told there was still no idea of a release date.

I had read on different media that many loyal Kershaw customers were frustrated over how little information was released and the dealers had little more to tell them. Some even stated that they wouldn't buy the Speedform when it finally came out (many because of dealer frustration).

Since I mainly frequent cigar boards, a few gun boards and a flashlight board I don't keep the pulse on the blade sites as I would like to. So I was surprised that after the delay (and my mistaken impression there may be some disgruntled customers) that there was a low and hard limit on production. I hope that clears up what I said above.

Just received my speedform today. I have to say that I love the thumbstud, that is really ingenious and it fits the thumb perfect and rides up the whole time with the thumb. Best feeling thumbstud I ever had. The knife really does feel solid in the hand. I have full confidence with it. Also, I love the optical illusion that the speedform plays with the eyes on the handle. They have designed it so that one half of the handle is lighter then the other depending on how you have it angled, very cool.

BUT, and this is a huge BUT, that pocket clip gets on my nerves. I mean literally, when I hold it in my hand, it just hits my hand the wrong way and does not feel good at all, no matter what grip I get on it. It just feels all wrong. It does cause a pain in my hand as is hits in the wrong place. I can tell that the knife would be great because without the clip I know it would feel incredible. But man does that clip suck when holding the knife. I like the clip when it is actually clipped in my pocket, very indescrete. But I am serious that I can not use this knife. It is very uncomfortable in my hand with that pocket clip.

I think it is because the pocket clip is very thin and sticks out away from the handle a good bit for the whole length of the clip. I just tried my bradley alias 1 and my buck Mayo TNT that have the pocket clip in the tip down position and they feel great in my hand. But as soon as I put the speedform in my hand that pocket clip just bites right into the wrong part of my hand. Too bad there is no tip up option, that would have completely solved the problem. I probably will be selling the knife soon, unfotunatley, as I love everything else about it. Oh well.... guess every individual will be different. Does anyone else feel the clip as much as I do? It's very annoying, both in the sense that it does not engage the hand well, and the other being that it completely ruins a perfect knife.

I lucked into one on the forum the other day. It is awesome!
One of the finest framelock knives I have owned to date, and I own a bunch. I love the precision that went into the design and manufacture of it. I love how thin the cutout line of the lock is. It shows a very tight tolerencing at Kershaw. Plus it is very sleek with futuristic flowing lines.
Kershaw hit it out of the ballpark with this one!

I personally would actually count the clip as a plus. Fairly small, straightforward and unobtrusive. Mounted a little lower than I'd like out of design necessity, but that's a small complaint.

Ya, I like the design of the clip too, very indescreet. But the fact that it sticks so far away from the handle and because it is so thin causes it to stick right into the opposite side of where the knuckle is. It just digs straight into that bone. I am trying other positions because I like the knife a lot otherwise.

I just tried my leek with the tip up and it feels comfortable too. I think its because it doesn't stick out as far and is wider and provides a flatter surface so it doesn't dig in. I will keep trying to like it, cause it is a good knife.

No comment on the new knife, but I wanted to reply to the pocket clip issue. I have found that on all my folding knives with clips (from several different manufacturers) that the knife is more comfortable in hand, actually using it to cut stuff, when the clip is in the tip-up carry configuration. This is why I carry tip-up, it has nothing to do with deployment, everything to do with comfort while using the tool.

With tip-up carry, the clip is in the back of your hand under the last 2 fingers when using the knife. The first two fingers are typically grasping harder for power and control than the last two, and I think this explains the greater comfort I experience with a tip-up clip placement.

Actually, two of my knives are waved, so they have to be tip-up to work, but on all the rest the clip position is dictated by comfort during use.

I prefer to have a fold over deep carry clip where possible, i.e. Kershaw Volt (LOVE the clip). When I first got the Speedform I was trying to figure out how to replace the factory clip with a fo-dc clip. But the more I looked at that clip, the better I began to like it. It really only lets a small amount of knife to be exposed, and I now love this design also.

I know I've already said this, but it bears repeating. The Speedform is a solid, solid knife! I wasn't sure I would like the way the back end of the handle sloped down, but once it my hand it feels great. I also love the titanium back spacer, as it is almost a full length backspacer and should really hold the knife together forever!:D

Plain and simple, this is one helluva' great knife that Kershaw has, ONCE AGAIN, brought to market!!:thumbup::D

Well, there aren't many pictures in this thread talking about the speedform, so I decided to post some up. Very sleek looking knife and it feels great, except for the pocket clip..:grumpy:. Anyhow, here are some pics of it by itself and some pics agains the benchmade 710 and buck 531 just to get the scale of it. It is just a little shorter then the benchmade, but not enough to make a difference. Enjoy the pics!
