The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

I'm not sure I can link them here directly. I don't think they are a paying vendor. Recon1 has these to be available next week. I almost wish I was in the market for it.

CHRIS REEVE LARGE & SMALL SEBENZA 31 NUMBERED MATCHED SET - WHITE CARBOTI INLAY - POLISHED DROP POINT CPM MAGNACUT BLADE - SILVER DOUBLE LUGS

Here is a vendor image. (image link may break in the future)

I don’t know what Carboti is and I’m not an inlay guy but I kinda like it.

Its just another form of carbon fiber with coloured dye.

Real Carbotanium is used in Pagani's tubs with titanium wire woven into the fabric.

Looks like this.

Ohh, thanks for the clarification. The picture the user posted looked like it had a lot more texture and not so carbonfiberie? Almost like real bad welds layered next to each other hah. Now I don’t like it as much hahah

I’m really liking the Umnum so smooth, this L31 is the most difficult of all CRK knives I’ve handled. I’m thinking I need to send it in. Should I have them sharpen it or find someone that’s great on a Wicked Edge? Never had a knife sharpened with CRK before, only Benchmade in person.

Just a thought. The damascus steel responds well to the ceramic rods in the basic Sharpmaker kit. Not too expensive. Easy. Repeatable.

Some of them still have single lugs. Unacceptable!
The 2019 21 and the 2023 31 are in a box right now headed for CRK and double lugs.

Regular thru Pre-Idaho 21 will remain singles as there are no blades available for warranty replacement were a blade to crack. The P and Original were never offered with doubles to my knowledge so I would not even consider touching them.

I never concerned myself with double lugs until I got this Inkosi in December. That marked the first time I opened a CRK left handed. I haven't actually needed that ability in real life, but I see why it's useful.

I'm probably in a minority of people who prefer the aesthetic if single lugs on a Sebbie.

I do prefer the look of the doubles but for me it’s all about the connivence of opening with either hand. I spent most of my early career standing on a ladder holding something in one hand or the other. The ability to use either hand to open or close a knife or turn a screw or drill a hole was real important.
