Ill join in ad reference material.

Few of the plunge and choil area.

A lot of the P's were hand ground by Chris from what I understand. The abrasive technology has some along way from standard aluminum oxide belts and cardboard wheels. This one came from the original owner who purchased it new in 1995 (when he was 14, had to get his dad to buy it for him) and he has never had it sharpened (his words) and from what I can see from a lot of early examples I would lean to believe him.

The original owner is a very good friend of mine, I was up his ass for a few years about selling it to me. Luckily when he came around, he offered it to me. Some things were said and he now owns my Rockstead SHIN and I own this.

What a great story and a fantastic knife. I really appreciate the imperfections (maybe the wrong word, character?) of hand work on yours and Kettleman Kettleman ’s vs the virtually perfect production knifes today. A knife like that has soul. Love it!

The one I passed on sold for a bit more than a SHIN, but I think it was still a fair price if it was really new like it was listed. Like R rishma if you can’t take perfect pictures with your phone of an item you expect to bring you several thousand dollars, it is sketchy. Even is there was nothing wrong with it at all that we discussed earlier. Something didn’t feel right. The stuff coming out of safes right now is crazy so I think there will be another come along.

Since we're talking about Originals I figured I'd show a couple pics of a non-P Original from very late in their production that was dropped in my lap at a price only a fool would refuse. It's one of the last made before the model was retired, having the many-band thumbstud. First pic shows the grind at the plunge, you can tell this was done by hand.

Here you can see the thumstud I mentioned.

Here's a comparison of an Original, a Classic, and a 21. What stands out to me is that the bevel on the Original is concave, the others are not.

My Original has that same stud. I actually snapped it up after seeing the stud because I remembered reading somewhere here a post you made describing it and how pretty rare it was.

I've got a few "P"'s and they are , IMHO, still the pinnacle... I have never had a legit shot at an "H" ,so money doesn't seem like it will buy one... probably have to be a Holy Grail trade, or homicide.... B
P.S. those originals are super rare also! Flat clip, ribbed thumb stud... so cool!

Hey all! Just wanted to drop by and introduce myself to ya'll. Got into the Reeve game a little late last year and am happy to see there's such a great community here for it. Currently starting to try and put together the Sebenza history collection, but ya know... funding, patience, rarity, weird work hours... Anyway, I'm excited to see all the timelines and history you have all already put together, there's a ton to learn! Already met a few of you, looking forward to meeting more.
-Mike
