Stumbled upon this while surfing the (you)tube.

Sooo I already know this guy would get torn up if he started a thread in here complaining as indignantly as he did on his video, but I thought it was interesting. This is the average, into knives but not into Becker's enough to come on here and really learn more about them kind of consumer who will be making up much of this rapidly growing fan base we have been enjoying lately. What do you guys think? Is this a valid way to feel for the 'day-to-day doesn't really get how the knife industry or market pricing works' type of person? Should Ka-Bar really take his advice to heart (as he seems to desperately want them to)?

Or is there a way to educate the public when they purchase these knives? Should we slip a card into the box with new Beckers that says "Stop bitching and google
Blind Horse Knives or Chris Reeve if you want to see how much you could really be paying for a quality knife"?

I don't know personally. Just kind of made me angry when I was watching the video. Hey guy, why are you complaining so much? Your buddy already hooked you up with some kydex! What more could you want!?!?

Yeah i've stumbled across this one. He gets real butthurt about the dulling. Doesn't he say he's going to have to work really hard to get the edge back at one point? I've been using that sheath for a long time and its never required any more than a bit of stropping to bring it back. This type of guy is going to get melodramatic about most anything.

Yeah he's kind of a baby. Really, how long does it take you to go back from a working edge to a fine edge? I'm perfectly fine with the 'dulling' on my 2 sheath anyways, because all I need on that knife is a really good working edge, no razor for me on that thing. I did go kydex for my 14 though because I prefer a razor sharp edge on my small knives.

I remember this from a while ago... Personally I just think people should just shut up about it cos what the hell do you expect from a 60 dollar knife? Btw, he also had a video where he sent his BK-2 in for regrinding and its now a full height convex.

He says he got it from a friend, "Gavco". If you've ever watched any of Gavco's vids, he sounds just like this guy, haha.

See my sig. Some people just don't get it. I've just taken the stance of "If you don't like it, there's the door". Go buy something you do like.

What's the problem? If ya don't like the issue sheath, there are plenty out there to choose from. Part of the fun of having a Becker is customizing it the way you want it- grips, sheaths, finish, ect. The issue knife is the platform for your personal customization project. If ya don't like it, let me have it and you can buy something else!

Hasn't Ka Bar already started making the plastic sheaths instead of the Glass filled nylon ?
I swear that I have seen a bunch of posts about new sheaths being made so that this doesn't happen any more. Why is he still whining about it?
There are even threads about how to fix it if you have an old glass filled nylon sheath.
Some people just aren't going to be happy, no matter what you do. I love how he said Hey look how YOUR sheath is messing up MY knife. They made both items dude, seriously ? They are both YOUR items now.
I never realized that the Tool, in Becker Knife and Tool referred to some of the people who buy them....lol

Gav is a great guy with good content with his videos, and in fact he has said that Beckers (including the BK2) were some of his favorite budget knives. I have no qualms with him.
Ryanrrx on the other hand- he's very opinionated, wants what he wants, and does exactly this kind of stuff when he doesn't get exactly the product he wants. IMO he's a jerk, and I refuse to watch any of the videos he puts out after the initial ~10 that I watched to get a taste of the channel.
All my opinion, of course.

Gav actually doesent like the BK-2 btw, I think he said he finds it too heavy but hes a big fan of the BK-7 (you seen his BK-7?)

His 7 turned out awesome.
I guess I was remembering the 2 he bought for sheath templates a while back.

Guessing you're one of the lucky ones who's sheath doesent dull the edge...

I never noticed but I'm very careful how I use my stuff. I don't jam a knife into a sheath and I don't pull it out and ride the edge on the welt. I must be advanced level knife operater
