The Knife Life (Minor Topics and Random Stuff Thread)

Nice pics Kris! I'm glad you had a good time. Haven't used the Ams yet - no sheath yet. [emoji15]

When the sheath gets here it's going straight on my belt. [emoji48]

Nice Higo BB! That one got a lot of nice layers in the blade.

Cool cool, yeah a sheath would help! Haha, still don't get why busse can't throw in a little kydex with their knives

Recently got a buddy looking into knives. We had settled on him getting a Spyderco Tenacious. He calls me the other day and he ended up ordering a Spyderco Mantra. I've never been so proud!

That's awesome man!

I actually kinda like the mantra but it's a little hard to justify because I've already got a delica and don't need a Ti frame lock version of it. And besides, my mordax is still my number one. This blade is impressing me more and more every time I use it. I through a beautiful new edge on it the other day and got it hair popping sharp from tip to base. Loving it so far:thumbup:

Thanks brotha! Party time is this weekend... :)

Go nuts man, you deserve it:thumbup:

Just got off my second day of work, both days were 8 hr shifts, today being from 7-3:30. Apparently the head honcho of Safeway is showing up at the store sometime tomorrow so this week has been a frenzy of cleaning. I've been scrubbing the entire store down with a rag and spray bottle and....get this....inflating pool toys.....

Yes, they have a display in the front of the store for summer and they needed to fill it up so they had the new guy running their tiny compressor for a total of 6 hours between these last two days, pumping up around 14 of them for display. And better still,it was at the front of the store where everyone was walking in and asking questions, and I didn't even get a chair go sit on while I was waiting🙄

Oh well, after all this president BS calms down I'll be heading for the deli most likely, which will be interesting because it's supposed to be hard as hell but at the same time I like the kind of work they do so I think it will at least be better than the cleaning I've been doing lately.

I did have one cool moment today.....I was talking to my supervisor while we were cleaning and noticed he was using a razor blade to remove tape from surfaces and I joked that I probably needed to be trained first how to use that blade otherwise I would be breaking company policy by using it. He goes, "nah man I used to think that but it turns out you don't need to be trained. Hold on one sec and I'll get you your own" I'm thinking he'll come back with another blade. He comes back with a packaged and brand new box cutter just for me. Something I could have for as long as I worked there:thumbup:

As a knife person, it was as if they just promoted me to manager:D:p

Oh and to top that off, I don't have to work tomorrow OR Saturday:thumbup:

Story time!

So being a college kid I have a plastic shower caddy that I keep all my toiletries in, and even while I'm on summer break I've kept them in there and left the thing on the counter in my bathroom. This caddy has large slits in the sides because it's meant to go in the shower with you as they're for draining water I guess. Unfortunately my razor found its way through one of those slits and has been sticking out of the side for a little while. I paid no attention to it until today...

I was screwing the cap back onto something absent mindedly and looking in the mirror, and I didn't notice that my hand was right next to the blade, I turned the cap and SCRAPE..... The razor scraped a few milimeters off the top of my middle finger on the right hand. The scrape was about an inch long, stretching from about the middle of the finger to just past the last knuckle before the nail. Blood gushing everywhere, I made my way to the truck to get the quick clot stuff I use for this type of shit. Eventually got that to work and wrapped the wound up with some gauze and a makeshift splint to keep my finger from bending.

Stupid stupid STUPID!

Tools for the summer holiday. All were used, the Capucin for an edc pocket knife and food prep, puukko's working with wood and the Grohmann for vegetables and meat.

Very nice! Love that top one in the last pic, looks like a serious worker:thumbup:

It is. Years ago I thought that a knife with a Roselli leuku blade but with their hunting knife handle would be nice. Behold, shortly after that I found such a knife :D and of course I bought it. It has served me well. Not too heavy to carry, but chops well and is a joy to baton with.

Little late to this shindig, but Kris that knife is beautiful bro! Love that blade profile!
How are y U liking it so far??
Also love the pics of your trip!
Cool thread!

Loving it! It hasn't left the pocket since I got it, and I don't think it ever will. Cuts very well for how robust it is, and the aesthetics mean that it's always a pleasure to look at. Couldnt ask for anything better.
