The knife that stopped you cold

Easy, my first Sebenza (small) which was, in fact, the first Sebbie I had ever seen in person. I found it at a gun/knife show in a nearby town. As soon as it was handed to me I understood all the hype. The fit/finish, ergonomics, appearance and utter simplicity of the knife just blew me away.

My BM 943, right out of the box I knew it was going to be a great knife, and it is.

Spyderco Military for it's, sharpness ( love that s30v ), full flat grind, size and it's lightweight... MicroTech SOCOM m/a for it's near flawless construction... Camillus Heat for best bang for the buck. IMHO

my blue PE Spyderco Dodo... it's just so unique... unlike any other knife i've ever seen... to handle:blade ratio and the compression lock are awesome... it's unbelievably sharp, and the S30V holds its edge well... i also like the wire clip, it's a nice change of pace.

Dozier jigged bone, medium folding hunter. Felt good in the hand, balanced, good 'snap' on opening...couldn't put it down!

Wegner folding hunter. The Spyderco version initially stopped me cold, and the new improved version by Blade-Tech did it again. :D

mike obie model 2 linerlock. none of my other customs has managed to wow me that much. everything about it was perfect.

Brian Tighe "My Tighe" everything is perfect, now if I can only bring myself to EDC it. :D :D

Same here except I bought another one with a damascas blade so I don't feel bad about using the stock one. I've also got another one coming from Brian that will have the clip on the other end. Sweet. It's just so wicked looking and so damn light it's crazy nice.

I am not sure how to answer this. I knew that my plain edge 556 was coming home with me the moment I picked it up. My Buck 112 was so bright and shiny when new. I think it may be the prettest folder ever made. My plain jane Schrade stockman cuts so well it is scary. Those are the three that come to mind.

That would have to be the first time I held and opened the Benchmade AFCK, the original with the Spyderhole.

This knife felt like it was custom fit to my hand. It still is one of my favorite EDC's, I loved the ATS 34 steel they used then, it was my first taste of a higher end steel.

I got my Ek no.5 bowie from The Cutlery Shoppe about 15 years ago. It was my first knife over $70 ($95 to be exact) I opened the box and was blown away. It was really nice looking. I've never used it but it is one of my favorites. :)

I loved the Simonich Crowfoot. And the custom Emerson CQC8 really blew me away. Ditto for the Mad Dog Bearcat.

I'm pretty picky.
at least 50% of the new knives I get give me the shivers.
The ones I really like still give me the shivers.

For me, there's been two. The one I actually own is a Himilayan Imports WWII-style khukuri. The first time I held it in my hand it felt so impossibly natural, as though I weren't holding anything at all. And where else can you get a completely hand-made knife for $125 that can chop down a tree or slice up a carrot?

The second knife that I fell in love with at first sight was a William Henry T12 spearpoint in mother of pearl. I haven't seen one in person yet (small Canadian cities aren't known for their thriving knife stores), but it looks beautiful in photos:

Small regular Sebenza in BG42, which I got used from a fellow forumite. It still amazes me. I was also knocked out by this same forumite's Simonich Cetan. I've wanted one ever since, but sadly may never have one. :(

I've had several to "blow me away" but two really stick out. A Kit Carson Vanguard E&E folder simply took my breath away and sadly I've since been forced to sale it. The other I've been more fortunate with in that I still have it and absolutely LOVE it.....a Rick Hinderer Firetac Extreme with clip point blade! The answer to my XXL Sebenza search!! :D :D :D
