The Last Blade You'd Ever See Me Carry Is A.....

One that don't comply with my local laws which is any folding blade over 5 inches that's right envy me :D.

And what's the general beef with SOG???? Mine is excellent, smooth fast, pretty affordable, and the design is one of the sickest tacticals I've yet seen.

the "general beef" with SOG is that SOG appears to rip off the designs of other companies then make extremely minor changes to avoid getting sued.

for example, there are a lot of SOG folders that look suspiciously like Spyderco offerings.

it's not that there's anything particularly wrong or bad about SOG knives, it's just that a lot of people would rather support the companies that innovate and put thought into their designs rather than support a company that just copies others.

he secretly uses the invisibility to carry a pink broadsword

LMAO!! :D

I jumped on my Dad last Sunday at his 90th birthday party for wearing a hot pink short sleeve dress shirt. I asked him if he was wearing matching underpants too. Nobody thought it was funny but me and my brother.

I'd have to say Sebenza. I don't have a problem with them dollar-wise, I just see them as the Hollister or SouthPole of the knife world... Everybody wants one just because it is a Sebenza. I've handled a few and it just didn't do it for me... convinced me that the popularity was just hype. (Anyone who wants to change my mind can send me one and I'll give it a spin :) I would also stay away from dork ops and extrema ratio, strider, buck strider, they are just ugly. Strangely enough, a few months ago CRKT would have been on my list but a few of their knives have impressed me lately by being much better than I thought they would be.

Welcome to BladeForums, tu tone !

You're even newer than I am, and I'm pretty new. :)

But, I already know you're really new if you're endorsing your S&W Extreme Ops !

:)

I bought one last Christmas before I got "into" knives (or before they got into me ;) ). Big 5 had them on sale for supposedly 1/4 their normal price (and 1/2 the price of everyone else). Six months later I became a knife enthusiast and learned a boatload of information and facts and informed opinion from this site. I then realized the S&W, while it might have good steel, was made in China with poor heat treatment. So, I packed it up and sent it to my less discerning grandson. He was so spiffed with it he sent me a thank you card for "the coolest knife EVER !!!" :p First time I got a thank you card from him, but I'm happy I made his day !

And I'm happy I replaced that knife with something better.

The last blade (knife) you would ever see me carry would probably be the one in my pocket when I expire. Now expecting to live many many more years. And knowing how I go through knives. It could very easily be a knife that has not even been designed much less produced yet. Maybe a Carbon Fiber scaled folder that has Titanium reinforced fibers in the scales so there would be no need for liners.;) And blade steel SO advanced that 12 hours of oxidation would put a razor sharp edge on it like magic.:D:thumbup: Maybe a pivot made from some super crazy hard jewel for a lifetime of smooth operation. And a lock so clever and solid it would put fixed blade knives on notice! :D

A litle off topic, but I'm sort of new too and have found myself carrying sub-par knives for too long. I have always had a knife on me, but it was usually some little Gerber or Spyderco knock-off that I got at Wal-Mart and such. I could never fathom paying $300+ for a pocket knife....until I found this forum. I now have 5 Benchmades (just found a 630). I have owned a Busse and handled a bunch of Sebbies. I have to say I might carry one that cost that much, but I'd have a hard time handing it off to a friend so he could cut open something or pry with it, etc...

I don't carry fixed blades much, but I think a Razel, Busse GW, or similar might be in store for me. To sum up my rant, I will not carry cheap (meaning quality, not price) ANYMORE!

I'd have to say that you won't see me carrying Made in China, or cheap blade steel of any make. I'm pretty new to knives too, but luckily this forum taught me a lot before I spent much money on junk.
