What did you use it for? Since I quit getting scanned every day going into work in a court building, I have been carrying a knife regularly. My current work is office type work with some occasional outdoor work. It's not unusual for me to go for a week without using one. That has me curious about how other members use theirs. I "used" mine yesterday to cut open citrus growing in a wooded area in a park. I thought it was a satsuma, and by cutting it open, I learned that it was. That certainly wasn't a need for a knife.

It might be fun to have a running thread on this topic. Pics if you've got 'em.

I just used my knife to cut the tape hold the box shut of my new knife:P

I use mine daily at work. Mostly for cutting stuff open instead of tearing it. I also prefer to eat apples and pears off the core via slicing it rather than biting it.

I notice when I carry both a small and a larger knife, it's the smaller one that gets most of the use. Not sure if im a fan of that revelation.
I used the pen blade of a classic to shave off dried gorilla glue off my palm

My edc folder gets usually daily. work, home, on the road, it always comes in handy. I’m self aware enough to know I don’t need my usual 4inch bladed ZT for my tasks, I know a SAK or slip joint would absolutely suffice, but that knife has sentimental value to me and I enjoy using it. My daily knife tasks involve opening boxes of parts cutting tire patches and belts, the occasional gasket needs to be scraped off, zip ties etc (I’m a car mechanic). At home my knife is used to open the random stuff my chick decided to order on Amazon the day before, occasionally I’ll use it for food stuff in a pinch, I’d be lying if I said I haven’t pried with it before.

So to answer your question, I used my knife about an hour ago.

I can honestly say that I end up using mine almost every day, sometimes I will go several days without using it but that is unusual. For starters, I love sharp cheddar cheese, and use my pocket knife to cut a couple of slices off to take to work for lunch every day. When I make a salad, I use it to cut up my veggies, and then when I go to eat it at work I use it to cut up my tomatoes. I use it to cut up fruit (to prevent any surprises) I use it opening envelopes, opening Amazon packages, cutting loose strings off my clothes, cutting up cardboard, cutting pallet straps, opening boxes and packages of parts, etc.
I will admit that I have a Milwaukee Fastback utility knife with the bit driver that gets used for most rougher stuff at work these days, keeps my pocket knife sharp for food prep and other stuff.
Every time you buy something, you have to cut those stupid tags and zip ties off everything, and then you have the plastic clamshell packaging. My wife just yesterday brought me a clamshell pack with a new curling iron she just bought so I could slice that demon packaging open for her.
I just went a few minutes ago and got a new package of napkins and was going to open it to put some in the napkin holder at supper. I guess I COULD just rip the plastic packaging open like a barbarian, but I find it is easier, neater, and more fun to slice that bad boy open with my knife on one edge and pull out the amount I need. I work in the radio room at my church, and we get packages of CD's with the film wrapped around the package, the 9 volt batteries we buy from Amazon come individually wrapped in a clear plastic that I score with a knife so I can easily remove it.
These are just the EDC tasks, I haven't even gotten into home projects like working on the vehicles, lawn mowers, opening bags of seed, fertilizer, etc. for yard work. Not to mention the therapeutic practice of taking a stick and slowly making it smaller by shaving little pieces away 😊

I could go on and on...
I guess I really wouldn't NEED to use my pocket knife for a lot of these tasks. I could go to the drawer to grab a kitchen knife or use some alternate tool for a lot of these things, but it is so convenient and fun to use that razor sharp blade that is right in your pocket, and I get happiness from putting it to good use 😁
