The Last Time You Used Your Knife

I made an atlatl and a dart with the db321 today.

When I'm not fooling around in my yard though, I do use a machete almost daily at work. My folders don't see as much heavy use, but get called upon several times a week for various tasks from dressing rope and stripping wire to cutting apples and opening mail.

I use mine many times daily. I pretty much never wonder the last time I used it. I cut open packages/boxes today, cut them bubble package inserts, cut a bunch of zip ties, cut open a tube of caulk, cut an orange for lunch. Honestly hard to keep track of. This is the reason I like one hand opening knives, I use em too much for a SAK type to work for me

I'm not sure why I have to cut a pill in half to get the right dosage, yet I do. Why can't the company make this dosage amount as a matter of course?

Hinderer was a first responder, so maybe he'd approve. Cut away and chase it down with water.

[Yes, a lot of knife, for a small task.]

[Normally, I slay Dragons with it!]

Not sure if I used it today, but yesterday for sure-opened Amazon packages, cut some plastic ties on the contents of one of the packages and a mower deck belt.is what I remember off hand
It can sometimes be a couple days between cutting needs, but they spring up, so I always have a knife on me for when it is needed.

Cut today;

Drip line
Cord for tie downs
Shaved some plastic dividers
Cardboard for recycling, and to make a quick target to sight pellet rifle
A vacuum hose that split in my truck
Tape for boxes shipped in
A couple apples for me and son
Pulled a couple thorns from boots

It's still morning tho...should be more to do later.

A couple of nights ago I used my knife's pen to mark a part of a book that I liked.

Yesterday I used my knife to mess with the pivot on a Svord Peasant while on a call with friends.

And today I used my knife as a phone stand to capture a time lapse of the clouds going by.

I don't think I'm doing it right, but I'm having fun!

I used this apprentice's paring knife from the shop of Murray Carter (whose handle I butchered a bit to suit my skinny fingers) to open a package of trail mix for breakfast. The Spydie Stretch EDC gets typical use opening clamshell packaging, trimming errant threads on clothing, shortening/cutting hoses/tape/zip ties/etc, smoothing rough fingernail edges, occasional cutting up food, & so on.

I use various knives every day at work- one of the perks of the food business.
As far as "pocket knives" go though..

The Sandrin Monza got used to take down a few cardboard boxes and cut multiple taped boxes open. Also opened up about a dozen bags of chopped romaine.
The Trentin puukko has all but replaced my usual paring knife at work. Today it was used to slice 8lbs of strawberries and break down 4 bunches of celery.

Was at a data center yesterday. My trusty 21 opened boxes, cut zip ties, served as a pointy poker to help dislodge stuck optical modules (FSPs, for you networking nerds), and helped me reach a bolt that dropped and rolled under equipment.

And cut my sandwich in half for lunch.
