Well I will live out my custom dreams by looking at you and Charlie’s. I don’t think my wallet is quite that deep lol! Y’all definitely have an impressive collectionAbsolutely! Between the first time I saw the Morph FM-1 and when I was fortunate enough to acquire it, I picked up a few other customs, each amazing in its own right. Experiencing those knives only made me more excited for it.
Thanks, man. I really appreciate that. That means a lot coming from you, especially given how incredible your collection is. You’ve got such a cool mix of Hinderer, McNees, Demko, Les George, Spyderco, and everything in between.Well I will live out my custom dreams by looking at you and Charlie’s. ). It’s just been a slow, laser-focused labor of love.

I enjoy looking at them in your posts more than I would owning them. I'd be scared to put any wear and tear or even fingerprints on them.

Truly appreciate the kind words, TravisThanks a lot, man. I really appreciate that. That means a lot coming from you, especially given how incredible your collection is. You’ve got such a cool mix of Hinderer, McNees, Demko, Les George, Spyderco, and everything in between.
As for me, it’s definitely not about deep pockets. The only reason I’ve been able to put together the Les George lineup I have is because that’s all I’ve focused on. I literally don't have any other knives in my collection (unless you count the beat-to-hell D2 Adamas riding in my trunk). It’s just been a slow, laser-focused labor of love.
and I want to echo the exact same sentiments Derek expressed. One, your collection rocks man! Two, this is definitely about passion and not about deep pockets.

but they’ve all moved on. Hell, I’ve sold a ton of awesome LGs to make room for some of these pieces…This might be one of my favorite damascus patterns of all time.Morning & Happy Thirsty Thursday y’all!
This is my Medium Harpy, which was a lotto piece at TKI in 2016. It features a full ZircuTi build, Zirc pivots, ano’d clip and stand offs, and a spectacular XHP core low layer damascus blade.
The specs are also pretty unique in the George line up w/ a 3.3” blade and 7.5” overall length.
Les only made 5 total Medium Harpies - this particular knife is a masterclass in metallurgy and craftsmanship. To have a piece that showcases both Chad and Les’s skills on such a high level in my collection is a dream come true.

Hard to get any more undeniably signature LG than this combination.I can't think of a better one to share on the penultimate day of our Lestober challenge.
It’s a custom FM-1 featuring Chad Nichols Stainless Blackout Damascus and Les’s signature “Morph” pattern deeply milled into the titanium scales. This one rides on bearings and was created for the Maker’s Lottery at the 2014 California Custom Knife Show. It’s wearing my favorite Steel Flame clip, a silver VGM Les George cross.
I first came across this knife years ago when I saw pictures of it online, back before I had any customs of my own. It was the most incredible knife I’d ever seen, with milling that immediately reminded me of the biomechanical style work of one of my favorite artists, H.R. Giger. I would later find out that Les actually based the design on the Xenomorph from Alien, which, fittingly, was designed by Giger himself. Not long after, I met one of the best guys in the knife community and discovered he owned it. About a year after that, I got a message asking if I’d be interested in it, and I just about fell out of my chair. It was the most excited I’d ever been for a knife.
There’s nothing quite like landing your first grail.

Contagious like those rampant Lab Monkeys running around down there!

I’m not about to claim I’m out bushcrafting with these, but I do carry a Les George knife every day. I might not put the rarer ones to work, but I definitely enjoy handling and admiring each piece regularly!im more a pedestrian user collector. y'all have some super nice, top notch, rare and special ones. I enjoy looking at them in your posts more than I would owning them. I'd be scared to put any wear and tear or even fingerprints on them.
Hence the reason I grabbed my mk3. In case I crossed any of those sobs!Contagious like those rampant Lab Monkeys running around down there!
Yes I already know that you’re a die hard LG collector and thanks for your kind words as well! I wouldn’t have some of the best pieces in my collection if it wasn’t for you and Charlie. Forever gratefulThanks, man. I really appreciate that. That means a lot coming from you, especially given how incredible your collection is. You’ve got such a cool mix of Hinderer, McNees, Demko, Les George, Spyderco, and everything in between.

I already know what you’ve gotten rid of, I wasn’t so much talking about you guys as much as myself because I can’t be as focused as you guys. I love em allTruly appreciate the kind words, Travisand I want to echo the exact same sentiments Derek expressed. One, your collection rocks man! Two, this is definitely about passion and not about deep pockets.
I sold everything that wasn’t Hinderer or LG at the beginning of 2023, and made the incredibly painful decision to give up collecting Hinderer around August of last year to solely focus my efforts on Les’s work. I’ve slipped up and bought a couple RHKs here and therebut they’ve all moved on. Hell, I’ve sold a ton of awesome LGs to make room for some of these pieces…
I’d also like to note that, much like Les’s mid-techs his customs are a pretty ridiculous value in comparison to many other makers. He easily prices his pieces 25%-50% below market. While it’s been an incredible effort to find most these pieces, the price tags are typically a lot lower than one would think.

MonkeyKiller 3?
