The Les George Knives Thread

Some amazing specimens lately! Servo for me today.

Morning & Happy Thirsty Thursday y’all! 🍻

This is my Medium Harpy, which was a lotto piece at TKI in 2016. It features a full ZircuTi build, Zirc pivots, ano’d clip and stand offs, and a spectacular XHP core low layer damascus blade.

The specs are also pretty unique in the George line up w/ a 3.3” blade and 7.5” overall length.

Les only made 5 total Medium Harpies - this particular knife is a masterclass in metallurgy and craftsmanship. To have a piece that showcases both Chad and Les’s skills on such a high level in my collection is a dream come true.

I can't think of a better one to share on the penultimate day of our Lestober challenge.

It’s a custom FM-1 featuring Chad Nichols Stainless Blackout Damascus and Les’s signature “Morph” pattern deeply milled into the titanium scales. This one rides on bearings and was created for the Maker’s Lottery at the 2014 California Custom Knife Show. It’s wearing my favorite Steel Flame clip, a silver VGM Les George cross.

I first came across this knife years ago when I saw pictures of it online, back before I had any customs of my own. It was the most incredible knife I’d ever seen, with milling that immediately reminded me of the biomechanical style work of one of my favorite artists, H.R. Giger. I would later find out that Les based the design on the Xenomorph from Alien, which, fittingly, was actually designed by Giger himself. Not long after, I met one of the best guys in the knife community and discovered he owned it. About a year after that, I got a message asking if I’d be interested in it, and I just about fell out of my chair. It was the most excited I’d ever been for a knife.

There’s nothing quite like landing your first grail. 🤘
