The Les George Knives Thread

That would bug me to the point of returning or selling on the secondary. Whoever looked at that and decided to send it needs a talking to from Les in my opinion. I understand the young guys are learning and there will be mistakes along the way, but they shouldn't be sent to customers. A $500 knife shouldn't look like that.

I almost said it the other day in a discussion about the 12 days VECP being machine ground, but hand grind doesn't always equal better grind. Here's hoping the wharny Servos coming in 2026 have a nice, symmetrical machine grind!

Can’t disagree with this especially when taken into consideration the extra cost was due to the hand grind. Probably wouldn’t bother me enough to bring to Les’ attention but everyone’s standards/pet peeves are different and doing so is entirely justified. I would imagine he would have it taken care of

I understand the perspective that being hand ground makes each one unique and some minor variance may occur due to the nature of handmade items, but that is a bit extreme in my opinion. Usually an upcharge or special edition advertising a hand grind (to me) is seen as a showcase of a well-respected maker's blade grinding skills, so to receive something so lopsided would have been extra disappointing for me.

Awesome to hear Boss! I would have really been disappointed and maybe even felt bad (just a little) if you felt otherwise. 😉

While I dont think the Myna gets the amount of love it deserves, it was still very well received. Secondary sales have been pretty consistent around $400+ depending on the variation. For whatever reason, the majority of mynas have been dlc coated. I’m only aware of one or maybe two drops in all sw variations which has made those harder to find and therefore a little more desirable. Imo

Personally it’s right up there as a favorite with the rest of his models and is definitely my favorite in the hand (also love the mk3 in hand).

Les had planned on ‘25 being the year of the myna but that got sidetracked by personal issues. Hopefully ’26 will be. I’d love to have one with a thumb disc though very unlikely.

The clip is one tight mf'er. I'm wearing Duluth Flex Fire Hose and it ain't going anywhere by accident, and nowhere quick volitionally.

Hey there BF brothers, this is my first DLT 12 days of Christmas experience. What I want to say is to thank everyone for the tips and information on how to successfully buy a knife when the drop happens. I am very grateful and excited to add to my collection this beautiful VCEP that Les made for the 12 days of Christmas! Now is anyone interested in the day 12 drop? Hinderer fuller spear point looks very interesting, but the price is way up there!

Never had that issue with an LG. Sounds like the pants fault. I have a few odkws like that. I consider it good n bad at the same time.

Was wondering if the fullered are $100 more than the Bowie simply because of the fuller. I didn’t notice any difference otherwise. An extra $100 for a fuller doesn’t really compute for me. While I’m a Hinderer fan I do sometimes feel like they’re trying to squeeze every little penny out of you that they can. Especially in regards to their hardware and titanium scales. On the flip side I do appreciate that they have kept their base models affordable/comparable to the competition.

For sure Mitch, the base models are a the same price. These fuller blades for 12 days are nice, but it’s to deep for my pocket

The vendor has a good return policy so I have time to return it if I choose to. I have no idea how many of these were made and who knows maybe you’ll get your wish and the next ones will all be MG. That being said even with the grind issues on this one it may end up being less common 🤷‍♂️ I really like everything else about the knife and I think it will make one hell of a user. If I don’t send it back I will probably never recoup my money on the secondary which is kind of a bummer but I’m not in this hobby to make money.

Les is aware of my concerns.

What did Les say about it?

Agreed even though Ive become quite the fan of fullers.
The Non-Flipper Fullered Spears are both full Ti BPU and Signature Series, which has not been done in a very long time. Signature Series means that Rick took a production blade and ground a part of it himself hence the price increase. Seriously insane offering from RHK for this 12 Days.
